The Palace Hotel Manchester

Had a great experience at the hotel, just returned home from spending a Saturday night followed by Breakfast. The breakfast was excellent with so much choice. The rooms were spacious and had everything you needed from coffee machine to iron and ironing board. The staff were very friendly and welcoming 👍 we have booked again for Christmas and looking forward to it already

Afternoon tea in the winter gardens was idyllic. Great range of teas, beautiful edibles, comfortable space and kind service. The perfect birthday treat.

Really disgusted by the treatment of unionizing workers. This is my mother’s favorite hotel in Manchester, but I’ll be insisting she books somewhere that uplifts their employees instead for her next visit.

Really nice hotel, minor wear and tear in the bathroom but not affecting overall cleaniness or comfort. The reception staff were outstanding, we felt welcomed from the moment we got through the door. Happy hour was a very nice touch too.

Event space and staff - Excellent event space for meetings and conferences. Smart rooms, good food and such a helpful events team, responding to every request. Would definitely recommend this venue. Hotel rooms - Smartly decorated with recurring bee/hexagon motifs. Some nice touches such as social hour and complimentary snacks in the room. But the building is old and echoey despite refurbishment. I’ve stayed in a premium room in the clocktower and standard room above the Whitworth suite. Event noise echoes through the building. Most of the rooms look out over one of the major train lines and despite double glazing you feel and hear the click-clack, engine and screeching from each train that passes at 5 min intervals. Most of the night, which makes for very poor sleep. Not the hotel’s fault but something to consider. The bed in the premium room was poor and had a big dip in the middle. Air con etc worked fine. Restaurant and public spaces - Stunning period features and a beautiful lobby. Front desk staff were so helpful and polite.

I cannot dissuade you enough from visiting the kimpton- absolutely HORRIBLE place to visit! terrible food, grotty rooms, and they treat their employees TERRIBLY! AVOID AT ALL COST!

The hotel is beautiful. Most importantly the people are lovely and helpful. Two that stood out for us were Ana in the dining room at breakfast and Jeff in housekeeping. Ana has the brightest and sweetest personality. She is so helpful and caring for everyone. Jeff is a fabulous man that is a treasure trove of information for tourists. He helped us find places to go and enjoy Manchester.

The facility's corridors exhibit an odor reminiscent of hospital-grade cleaning agents, and the flooring appears to be aged and in need of refurbishment. The herringbone flooring, in particular, presents an outdated aesthetic and numerous imperfections, which I found to be quite noticeable. Despite the hotel's high-end classification, the quality of the room bedding and pillows was notably subpar. While the majority of the staff provided exceptional service, one particular individual ( the old grumpy lady)at the reception desk displayed a rather unenthusiastic demeanor. Conversely, the breakfast and overall food quality were commendable.

Had a fantastic two day stay at the Kimpton Clocktower. The only complaint we have is that there is no concierge or anyone to take your luggage to your room after checking in which is not ideal if you have heavy luggage. However, I must say that this hotel is gorgeous and the staff are very friendly. We would recommend staying in this hotel.

Beautiful hotel, very well equipped rooms with very comfortable beds. Staff are fantastic.
