What a beautiful hotel, years of history carefully cared for. We had the pleasure of talking to Jane the owner, a font of knowledge and so proud of the hotel and its history and rightly so.

We love coming to the Walpole Brilliant location and superb customer service and free parking right outside. Some of the decor is a little dated but that’s part of its appeal Quirky , comfortable and welcoming

We love the Walpole, quirky, rooms are clean, staff are lovely and friendly, 20 min walk along the seafront into Margate. The self service breakfast is to die for the best ever. We have been going there for 8 years and have booked again for next year!

The Walpole Bay Hotel is the whackiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in — part museum, part theatre, part home away from home. Visited in spring, weather was glorious. Location’s a short walk from the main town, rooms are great (some with balconies and lovely views), and staff are consistently friendly. The real highlight is the collection of antiques, art and treasures throughout the property. The owner clearly loves it all — ask her about the history and she’ll happily talk your ear off.

I want to echo everything that has already been said and just add my small morning experience here: I could enjoy the quiet morning surrounded by lovely flowers in the veranda, while my toddler and husband went to the nearby playground. It really is a magical, wonderful place.

This hotel was built around 1910! The scones were incredibly soft and moist, not at all dry—the best I've ever had!!! The interior was lovely, and the staff were wonderful! Each floor was like a museum, and I'm so glad I got to stay there! ✨
