Perfect spot to discover Oxford, well equipped rooms, beuarifully decorated. Very friendly owners who were very quick in responding. Very recommendable! Don’t forget to take a stroll in the lovely park right next to it
Alan and Evelyn were pleasant, friendly hosts. The house is in a convenient location just south of Oxford proper - you can walk to High Street in 10-15 minutes, or take one of the many busses that pass by. Our room was spacious, and so was the shower (a major plus because some showers I've encountered in the UK are so small you can barely turn around in them). My only complaint was that the fold-out bed for our third person was not comfortable. However, I informed Alan and Evelyn and they said they'd fix it. Lakeside Oxford Hotel was a satisfying stay.
For our first visit to Oxford, staying at Lakeside Oxford was a wonderful experience. The hosts, Alan and Evelyn, were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Alan kindly shared useful tips on places of interest to visit as well as recommended restaurants to dine at. Evelyn suggested an alternative riverside walking route to the city centre, which was peaceful, scenic, and enjoyable. The property also provides parking, which is extremely convenient for travellers driving to Oxford. The city centre is about a 15-minute walk away, making the location both practical and relaxing. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would gladly recommend Lakeside Oxford to anyone visiting the city for the first time.
We unfortunately did not enjoy our stay at the Lakeside Hotel as our room was too small and we also had the hotels boiler in our room which was extremely noisy so our sleep was disturbed so we couldn't wait to actually leave to get some decent sleep at home. The highlights of our stay was the free parking and that it wasn't too far from the city centre. Due to our issues I would not recommend staying in room 2 (double room) as I personally don't think that it should be used as a hotel room with the boiler being in it.
Excellent, very clean and peaceful and great location
