We went to visit the gardens. 1 word. Disappointing. In need of a clear up and make over.

I’ve just enjoyed an hour walking around Dartington estate looking for my room. I’m now driving home. I was given an envelope with a key to “room 8, the bothy”. I was told to turn right twice from the pub and it would be on my left. I tried all variations of this and walked round the entire courtyard, gardens and out buildings. I found the east wing but not the other accommodation. There are no maps or signs anywhere. Even the pub was hard to find. A site this size should have a visitor map and good signs. Failing that, the envelope, which contained two useless but long leaflets, should have had some indication of where the accommodation was. There was a security number which was not answered. So heading home without the benefit of the room that was booked for me as part of a party booking. Could have been better. Photo illustrates lack of “the both” on sign. Online maps similarly it doesn’t exist.
