Very disappointed we returned for a Sunday roast that was lovely last time we were here 2 weeks ago. but very poor Sunday roast today, turkey cold swede cold no carrots, potatoes were warmed up. We did complain but did not make much of the complaint very disappointed. no offer of a replacement meal or even a refund.

We had stopped to have an evening meal. Having ordered fish and chips, as a typical West Country dish, disappointed to find the batter had a curry flavour added to it. I wish I had returned the plate but not accustomed to complain, I removed the haddock from the battery. It wasn't mentioned on the menu as being season with this flavour, I would not have had it if it was. So very disappointed and £19 wasted.

Awesome location, super friendly staff, excellent service. Our Sunday roast beef was a little cold, and potatoes could of done with more crispiness, limited parsnips, but overall, a lovely experience.

Situated on the River Dart, the Steam Packet Inn, is a wonderful pub all year round. Fantastic outside seating in the summer overlooking the river and a charming, cosy appeal in the winter. Food and service are generally excellent, although at times inconsistent. The establishment is great and dog-friendly, and the Sunday Roast is also worth stopping for. Cannot comment on the rooms/stay as despite several visits I have not trialled their accommodation. Absolutely love this pub. We've visited several times and either sat indoors or outside by the river nursing a drink or two. However, we decided to stay overnight recently, and it was an experience I'd wholeheartedly recommend. Our room had a free-standing bath in the bedroom itself, but also a huge walk-in shower room. The homemade cookies waiting for you in the room are a lovely touch. You would probably be best advised to pre-book a table if you want to dine here in the evening as it was very busy on the (Sunday) evening we stayed. I would say my food was reasonable, but not memorable unfortunately. The starter of bbq pork belly ribs with sweetcorn purée sounded far better on paper than the reality of its quite bland taste. My salmon fillet with chorizo and samphire main course was better, but not one that will linger for too long in the memory bank. On a plus note, my afternoon nibble of a bubble and squeak Scotch egg with wholegrain mustard mayonnaise was exquisite. Would I recommend staying here? Most definitely! The room was fantastic, and the location is stunning, even better when you catch a nice sunny day.

Had a meal with older family here, was laid back, reasonably priced, friendly staff. Menu was suitably varied with some odd options but enough choice that everyone was well catered for. Overall, nice environment in a good location
