Very dated property and beds are just OK, not the most plus or comfortable. Room had an interesting smell, like old furniture or carpet type of smell. And the location is not ideal, it’s not walkable to anything in town, so you are limited to the on hotel sights. I paid more here than my others places in Windhoek and the value is just not there. It’s decent spot it’s OK, but would prefer elsewhere.
What an amazing experience at the Mercure Hotel Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was met with warmth and professionalism. A huge shoutout to Kahii, who served me with such grace her service was outstanding, friendly, and genuinely made my visit special. She’s an absolute star, A Gem ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ And the atmosphere? 🔥 DJ Paulo was on fire! The music was vibrant and brought the whole place to life. Great food, great service, and incredible vibes what more could you ask for? Highly recommend.
The restaurant is beyond description. The simple design, the lighting ambiance and the welcoming staff, all made this experience unforgettable. Special thanks to Satiel for his amazing attitude, helpfulness and welcoming smile. The food is so delicious and is always served fresh. Definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone New in Windhoek, Namibia.
This is an old hotel, and it would be great if the rooms were renovated to match the beautifully designed reception area. The rooms are spacious, but the hallways have a dusty smell due to the old carpets. The bathrooms feature bathtubs with aging taps. The restaurant lacked many items from the menu. However, the breakfast was well organised. Overall experience, it was quite a miss...
Disappointing Christmas Lunch Experience We booked the Christmas buffet lunch at the Mercure Hotel in Windhoek for four adults, expecting a festive atmosphere and delicious food, especially given the price (N$1,860 for four people, N$465 per person). Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. From the start, the event was extremely disorganised. The staff were unfriendly, and we had to fetch our own welcome drinks, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. Service was slow, and staff behind the buffet seemed uninterested and unhelpful. The food, while not bad, was mediocre overall and certainly not worth the price. For a Christmas buffet, we expected a wide selection, particularly for desserts, but this was the biggest letdown. The dessert options were limited, uninspired, and ran out quickly. For instance, the macarons were gone halfway through service, and we were simply told there weren’t enough. Other small details added to the disappointment. Our table for four had only two Christmas crackers, and this seemed to be the case across the restaurant. When we ordered draft beer, it arrived in large boot-shaped glasses, but when we requested another round, we were told there weren’t enough glasses, and we had to finish quickly so they could reuse them. Overall, the experience was far from festive, and we left feeling that it was overpriced and poorly managed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Mercure Hotel for any special occasion, let alone Christmas.
