Blackheath Lodge

This was our second visit to Blackheath Lodge but this time we went with friends. Great location in the city center and a walkable distance from the waterfront. Rooms are well appointed and cosy. Beds are confortable. Breakfast is delicious with eggs made to order. There are also fruit, yogurt, cheese and meats in the small buffet. The girls at breakfast take good care of you. Amazing staff! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Can’t say enough good things about this place. It is our place to go when in Cape Town. Do not hesitate to go.

This was our second stay at Blackheath Lodge, and it was just as excellent as the first time. We love that is on a quiet residential street but in the heart of Seapoint, easy walking distance to so many places. All the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, they really are the greatest assets. The room was spotlessly clean, and had a huge comfy bed. The breakfast is really lovely, too, very fresh & eggs cooked well, and a well stocked bar for afternoon drinks. Thank you so much, in particular to Sean, Riano, Hamid & Grace, for making our short but sweet stay so fabulous! See you again soon hopefully. Naomi & Matt

Nice accommodation with very pleasant and helpful staff. Well located with respect to the city. Beautiful rooms, clean and of good quality.

The best place ever!!! It is small and the staff treat you like family! We were there for four days and everyone came to say goodbye and give hugs! Miemie is a mother to all and Sean and simon were so funny! Grace was the sweetest and Hamid at the door was so witty! Love the place I didn’t want to leave!

Second time at this hotel and no need to look anywhere else for our next trip to Cape Town. A proper boutique property which retains its original architectural beauty. Property is gorgeous, location is great and the staff simply are the best. I dont think we have ever felt so much at home with in an hotel setting. Even before you arrive the staff and in particular Riano are reaching out to you through whatsapp to make your arrival as seamless as possible. Did the full day private Cape Peninsula trip and had an amazing time, visiting places we had never visited before enroute to Cape Point and Boulders (thanks Gavin) Sadly time we only had 3 days in Cape Town, could have hapily spent a week in this wonderful place. Somewhere really special where the staff really do everything in their power to make your stay memorable

Beautiful place in a safe area, walking distance to the harbor ( 20 min max). Very well kept, we had an apartment for the three of us with a bery cozy feel to it. It was winter when we were there and the bedrooms and the bathroom had heating and the living room a fireplace. Staff was very knowledgeable about restaurants etc. and super friendly. Breakfast was part of the deal and they have one of the best breakfasts, partly buffet but you can order of a menu in addition and I adore it if a place does nice eggs Benedicts, which they did. For summer, there would also be a nice if smallish pool, we got to enjoy the bar with the fireplace in the evenings, very well stocked. Highly recommend this for the location, the staff and the possibility for large rooms with kitchens, would have also been a good place to stay with younger kids, ours is a teenager but she also liked to have her own space and the good wifi.

A lovely cozy lodge with an incredible staff. Simon in particular was extremely helpful, giving us advice where to go and what to see, including on our next stop after Cape Town. We had a very large room with an outdoor terrace. Unfortunately, the weather is bad for most of our three days there, but it was a lovely day nonetheless.

We arrived having travelled 2 days by plane. The flights sucked. Never fly Qatar airways. However, The people at the Blackheath Lodge made up for all of it. They were wonderful; it felt like a family immediately as they welcomed us with an outstanding cappuccino and Riano, who sat with us and showed us the map, oriented us to every aspect of the city from the hotel, made excellent suggestions as to what we could do, restaurants. Just a one of kind human being, who I will never forget.. Charming, ambient, tasteful, warm and creative. The staff were amazing. The decor was fascinating, so true to South Africa. The room was beautifully appointed. No noise to speak of, clean as a whistle. Just can’t say enough about my fondness for this place. I’m a very independent traveller, but have been lucky enough to have had some very luxurious experiences at hotels, and was raised with excellent manners🙂, so I would be honest if my experience were anything less than what I am stating, in this review.

Extremely friendly people! Really cool guy! We slept there for 4 nights. And the service was friendly, they addressed you by name, cozy bar evening, a top breakfast in the morning where you can choose your egg.

Karin, Riano and Gotfried = The best hosts EVER we met in our life. If you love warmhearted and deeply good persons than this is the place to stay!!! Sometimes I think there are sometimes reasons for surprising situations which you never expect in life. What in the beginning was a mistake in the booking platform turned out to be the best what could ever happened to our holiday in this difficult times. The communication started with sweet Karin who immediately lit up our heart with fire the way she was dealing and writing with us, to make everything so extremely comfortable for us as possible. There was literally NOTHING where I was thinking: Oh this I dont like so much now. And I am a super super critical person as we had already quit a lot of experiences in this field. She took really took care with immediate response to every single mail we exchanged. One of the really nice things than was the late checkin. Peter (also very nice) the night concierge checked us in very uncomplicated. The next day we had a very delicious breakfast and we met finally lovely Karin. After we finished the breakfast (You can choose a delicious Egg breakfast between Omelette, Egg Benedict, Scrambled eggs, Sunny side up with a variety of vegetables. On top you can have delicious fruit yoghurt, french toast and sometimes muffins) Karin sat down with us at the bar and showed us important things to do in Cape Town and we had really a nice chat about life. They always take their time to interact and look after the wellbeing of their guests. Than we finally met Riano and Gotfried after 2 or 3 days. And we were immediately feeling connected with them and that we going to have a wonderful and gorgeous time with them together. But that it is going to turn out SO GORGEOUS we only imagined in our dreams. The times we spend at the pool Riano was always on duty and folks I can tell you, there you will definetly
