Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank

After a long day of flights and transfers, we arrived at the Hyde Rosebank Hotel only to discover that we had made an error with our booking. We were understandably tired, upset and frustrated. Thankfully, Relo went above and beyond to assist us. Although the mistake was entirely ours, he quickly arranged a new room, upgraded us, and even provided a 10% discount voucher for dinner. His professionalism, kindness and genuine care completely turned our experience around, and we can’t thank him enough. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and offered lovely views over Johannesburg. We chose to dine in the hotel restaurant that evening, and the meal exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Breakfast the following morning was equally impressive, with an extensive selection of fresh fruit, juices, pastries, eggs cooked to order, pancakes, and plenty of other hot and cold options. There was something for everyone. Our only disappointment was that we were staying for just one night. We would have loved to spend more time enjoying the hotel and exploring everything the Rosebank area has to offer. A wonderful hotel made even more memorable by exceptional customer service. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great service Rooms are spotless Food is 👍 great

I just finished a 5 night stay at this hotel and found it to be an uneven experience. The main issue is that the hotel can be quite noisy. I was originally put in a room on level 7 that had very noisy ventilation that included an occasional thumping noise at night. After complaining I was moved to a quieter room on level 6, with the staff upgrading me which I appreciated. However, despite being double glazed, the windows in the new room let in a surprising amount of street noise. The hotel sponsored a running event on one morning of my stay (the Youth Day public holiday) that included a DJ playing outside the hotel from just before 7AM! This seemed well intentioned but rather unwise. The breakfast in the restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent and I really liked the hotel decor. The rooms were intelligently designed, with the bathrooms in particular being great. Service standards from staff were uneven. While most staff were helpful, I struggled to understand what the role of the team at the main door was: they would sometimes say hello, sometimes open the door for me and sometimes ignore me completely. One of them closed the door in my face as he was wandering outside to check his phone! The lifts are very slow and are used by other businesses in the building, which was irritating. Overall, I think this hotel is best suited to people staying in Rosebank for a short period for the nightlife.

I had a group of 7 travelers stay here for 4 days in April 2026 and the hotel was truly a perfect start to their trip. The location is perfect - attached to shopping and great restaurants. The design of the hotel is impeccable. The team was wonderful to work with and went above and beyond. Highly recommend.
