Restaurant Botanic

Worth every last red cent. This is a wonderful dining experience. Intimate, relaxed, yet quietly and unassumingly sophisticated. The care taken with the preparation of every dish is incredible. The presentation, textures, aromas and flavours are wonderful. Alma our Somm was brilliant - very attentive, unpretentious, patient and knowledgeable. Some fabulous wines by the glass allows you to venture beyond a few bottles. The 1970 Bredif Vouvray is worth the trip alone. The pace of the dining was also good, a goldilocks pace (just right) - not rushed and gauged to suit the individual table. And of course the Botanic Park setting is beautiful. We recently ate in a Michelin 1 star in Rome and this was far better. I reckon worth 2 stars - the only thing holding them back is some of the service while good is not quite the level of confidence and sure-footedness we have encountered at other Michelin starred restaurants. However, this is a very minor quibble in what is overall a brilliant restaurant.

The whole experience was sensational and I would highly recommend it. The location, the restaurant, the food and the matched wines were exceptional. The chef catered for my vegan diet and the dishes were amazing and very tasty. My husband has no dietary requirements and agreed that his dishes were also amazing and very tasty. The sommelier was very passionate and knowledgeable of all the matched wines. The wait staff were very friendly, informative and welcoming. The whole experience was very enjoyable and I can't wait to go back.

I had a really beautiful time at Restaurant Botanic, I went a solo for dinner and although I've dined out alone many times, I felt a bit nervous because the dinner experience was set to be 3-4 hours. I let my excitement take over and I'm so glad I went! I booked a seat at the chef's table, it was great to be at the front of the action watching the chef's plate up the dishes, each one a piece of art! The food was absolutely incredible, you can tell how much care and thought has gone into making each dish, the best dining experience! Alma, Elle, and all the restaurant team were lovely! They took the time to explain each dish, answer any questions, they made me feel at ease straight away and I left with handwritten recommendations for my trip in Adelaide - thanks so much. I was on Melbourne time as I forgot to set my phone to Adelaide time, oooops! So, I arrived half an hour early without realising, and was still led straight to my table. I really enjoyed the experience, and will certainly be back in future! Thank you!

One of the most special dining experiences I’ve ever had. Botanic is truly in a league of its own. The staff were incredible and the sommelier was unbelievably knowledgeable. Each dish was so intricate and complex. Favourites were the caviar cone, cheese danish, fish tart and ants and horseradish and desserts. My least favourite was probably the maron, it was a little translucent and undercooked for my taste. The cellar selection wine pairing was also excellent, highly recommend.
