UBQ is a dedicated queer bar upstairs at 97B Smith Street in Fitzroy, part of the cluster of LGBTQ+ venues in Melbourne's inner north. It works as a neighbourhood queer pub: drag, DJs and community nights through the week, drawing a mixed crowd of gay men, women and trans and non-binary locals. According to our listing, the downstairs level runs separately as the LCKR Room cruise venue, so check which door you want. Such a fun and safe place to be yourself. Even the drag queens are friendly! Excellent floor show followed by super relaxed Karaoke. Loved the alternative 80s dj set downstairs in the tiny club. Took me to back to a simpler time. This place should get a tv show.

Flash on Saturday's night is so much fun. Expect just gay shirtless guys, and most likely quite sweaty since it's very hot inside. It's important to respect the space and the gay vibe of this party, so I wouldn't recommend it for straight people.
