UBQ (short for U B Queer) is a dedicated queer bar upstairs at 97B Smith Street in Fitzroy, one of the anchors of Melbourne's inner-north LGBTQ+ strip since it opened in 2023. It runs as a friendly neighbourhood queer pub with drag, DJs and community nights, and its downstairs level operates separately as the LCKR ROOM cruise venue. Such a fun and safe place to be yourself. Even the drag queens are friendly! Excellent floor show followed by super relaxed Karaoke. Loved the alternative 80s dj set downstairs in the tiny club. Took me to back to a simpler time. This place should get a tv show.

Flash on Saturday's night is so much fun. Expect just gay shirtless guys, and most likely quite sweaty since it's very hot inside. It's important to respect the space and the gay vibe of this party, so I wouldn't recommend it for straight people.
