Hôtel Boutique Azzurro - Surry Hills

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for a night. I might say it's a bit new to us to have a remote reception but everything was smooth so we think it's cool. Thank you Maiden for explaining everythinf during check-in!

Enjoyed my first stay at Azzurro: Need and appreciated my bottom bunk in 4 Bed ensuite room... Location... Yummy Dinners each night.. Well priced for the area... Thank You!

It was a pleasure to stay in Azzuro boutique hotel, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, especially Mokey who checked me in and out. The private room I had was very nice and convenient, although the floor was a little dirty. The location is also very convenient, which made my stay in Sydney easier ! I recommend !

The hostel is very clean and I had a wonderful stay, especially for Moki for being polite and helpful. Overall it is highlighy recommended.

Among all the unexpected things, it turned out to be more of a hostel than a hotel. I kept receiving daily messages about not leaving e-bikes outside and many other rules that were never mentioned beforehand — even though I didn’t even own an e-bike. They also claimed to offer room service upon request. I never requested it, yet someone still tried to enter the room while I was asleep and even opened the door. My wife screamed, and the person immediately shut it again. On the first night, someone triggered the smoke detector alarm, and we had to evacuate onto the street in the rain while waiting for the firefighters to arrive and inspect the building. Other guests told us this was apparently a normal occurrence at this “hotel.” Another strange thing was a sign asking girls to stay quiet in the rooms and not make video calls inside. Not only is that already concerning because you expect privacy, but why specifically target girls? It’s 2026, for God’s sake. There was also a sign inside the room stating that if you made phone calls inside, you could be asked to leave the premises. Overall, this was a terrible experience.

Great location and dinner included if need to save the pennies - stayed in a dorm room, did have a fair amount of storage. Not a lot of communal space if wanted to read a book or something. Be prepared to get spammed with message multiple times a day. But fine overall.

Adrian as soon as the door opened was the loveliest person to speak to. It’s the exact face you’d want to be welcomed by when you walk straight in! He checked me in for diner everyday as it was part of my stay and he deserves a raise

Super clean and well regulated hotel/hostel perfect for long term stay. The receptionist Zare’s was particularly helpful! 100% recommended
