Hôtel Beresford

I had an extremely disappointing experience at The Beresford on Bourke Street in Sydney. I had a reservation for 20 people at 6 p.m. on June 6, but I was running late, so I called ahead. When I arrived, there was a long line. I explained to the security guard that I had a reservation, but he dismissed me, telling me to go to the back of the line. Already anxious, when I finally reached the next security check, he asked me what I had done that day. I answered, “Not much,” but he pressed, asking for details. I wasn’t comfortable explaining—I was overwhelmed—and I said, “Why does it matter?” This led to him escalating the situation, and he called over a manager who stared at me with absolute disdain. Despite explaining it was my birthday, that I was anxious, and that I just wanted to join my group, they refused me entry. This potentially ruined my night. My family, friends and I had to leave, and some had already spent money inside. Thankfully, we found a better venue across the road, but I will never return here. The lack of empathy, the dismissive attitude, and the blatant unfair treatment were appalling. I strongly advise others to avoid this place if you expect to be treated with basic respect.

Fabulous venue for a mid week event and dinner

The licensee, with the moustache has an attitude that stinks. Asked him politely to put the NRL on and he accused me and my friends of being aggressive. Will never return because of this man. Rude and power hungry. I recommend you do not attend this pub.
