ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe by IHG

The room was spacious and clean. The view was nice, and the food wasn't bad. I woke up early in the morning and was using the bath when I noticed a significant water leak from the toilet. The water leaking from the drain was unpleasant, so I called the front desk, and a staff member came right away. They wiped up the leaked water with a bath towel and said one thing: "You can leave now, right?" And then they left. It was 6 AM... I had no choice but to pick up my luggage and head to check out. The check-out process was completed as if nothing had happened, and I waited in the lobby until breakfast time. I had an appointment at the hotel's venue that day, so after breakfast, I spent the time until then exploring the area around the hotel where nothing was open. It was nice to be able to stroll around Kitano in the early morning, even though I was wearing leather shoes.
I am Thai and frequently travel to Malaysia for business, so I'm often exposed to Malaysian cuisine. During my recent trip to Japan, I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. When I saw that the Casual Dining restaurant, The Terrace, was hosting a "Taste of Malaysia" event, I was very interested in trying it. However, when I asked about the menu options for the event, and specifically asked if I could look at the menu at the counter first to decide whether to participate, I explained that I would only stand outside and watch, and would not enter the dining area. The female staff member at the counter replied, "No." Furthermore, her facial expression and tone were quite rude, and she offered no further explanation. I can't believe a hotel staff member would respond like that. This isn't just a matter of lack of training; we were extremely disappointed that such a large hotel displayed such inadequate service. It could even be described as extremely bad. This waitress gave me a terrible experience. (Right side in the photo)
I stayed here for a manufacturer's meeting. The hotel is conveniently located near Shin-Kobe Station, and the service was excellent, making for a comfortable night's stay. The night view was truly magnificent. However, perhaps because I'm not familiar with the area, when I checked out early the next day and headed to the station, I got a little lost trying to find the route to the station's walkway. Thank you.
Today, I took BR176 to Kobe. After about an hour, I exited the station, turned left, took the elevator to the 4th floor, and arrived at ANA CROWN PLAZA. Check-in was smooth. On the way upstairs, I met two other passengers from my flight, two rows ahead of me, who were also waiting for the elevator. I booked two king-bed non-smoking rooms. After confirming there was no smell of smoke, I opened my suitcase with peace of mind. It's undeniable that the hotel has a vintage feel, but there are some details I want to share: the clean tiles in the bathroom, and the OCD-like shower curtain—I took a picture before using it. It's 11:33 PM Japan time now, my first day of check-in, and there wasn't much train noise. Overall, it felt very similar to the Tokyo Bay Okura Hotel I stayed at recently. The front desk service was excellent. The receptionist seemed to be a Mr. Miyamoto; he was always smiling, and I kept watching him smile, though I'm not entirely sure of his name. Check-in was around 7:30 PM. The hotel is connected to both the tram and the Shinkansen (bullet train). I have a very good impression of Kobe; the street scenes are pleasant. Next time I come to Kobe, I will definitely stay here. ✨ ·͜· ·͜· ·͜· ·͜·✨
If you're staying here, I recommend the club floor! The selection of alcoholic beverages during cocktail hour is excellent! There were also complimentary drinks, including canned beer, in the refrigerator in the room. Furthermore, there were two double-outlet sockets (Type-A only, no Type-C), so you only need to bring your own cable!
