À propos de ce lieu Pride House Tokyo Legacy

Pride House Tokyo Legacy opened in 2020 as Japan's first permanent LGBTQ+ community centre. It is on the second floor of a building near Shinjuku-Gyoenmae station, a short walk from Shinjuku Ni-chōme. It offers a drop-in space, information and referrals, a library of LGBTQ+ books and materials, and hosts talks, exhibitions and community events. Staff can point visitors and residents to support services and community groups. Check the website for current opening days before going, as it is not open every day.

It's a wonderful facility, but it will be closed for renovations for about one to two months starting in April 2026. Please take note.

You can enjoy delicious, safe, and reliable free drinks. It appears to be backed by many 🇯🇵 companies, led by the Nippon Foundation, and there are many books and leaflets on gender.

Even as a tourist, I felt a strong sense of community and pride from this little space. There are many materials describing the history of this space and the LGBT community in Tokyo. The space is also open for people to use, be it co-working or chatting. I especially appreciated the staff member Jung talking to me both times I came; we had very riveting discussions about the situation for LGBT people in Korea, Japan and Singapore. I would definitely come back with more LGBT tourists.

One free drink! Thousands of LGBTQ-related manga and books available. Wi-Fi available. Free smartphone chargers available for charging. Bring your own food and drink (but no alcohol). Use the power outlets to work on your computer. There's a changing table in the restroom. Elevator available 🛗, wheelchair accessible ♿️. Perfect for killing time and relaxing. If you're lucky, you might even be able to chat a bit with the staff. (Depending on the situation)
