Good spot on the edge of Thamel. The service is great; they are thoughtful and helpful in every way.
Souvenir Guest House is thé place to stay in Kathmandu, Thamel. The owner Madan and his wife are super friendly and will help you with everything. The rooms are good in relation to the price. You can have a shower and toilet available in the room if you want to. It is located in the middle of Thamel and within a minute you’re in the city centre. For recommendations, booking nice trips, good restaurants or just to have tea and conversation, Madan and his family will support you. Definitely coming back!
Wonderful welcome, family-run with very kind hosts. They also gave us lots of tips on places to see. Plus, it's right in the city center, in a central and convenient location! It's a real pleasure to be their guests, namastè!
The owner was initially very friendly and helpful. We dropped off our luggage three days before our stay, but we weren't able to see the rooms in advance, as they all seemed available. On our return, however, the choice was rather limited; the room was tidy but not particularly clean. The street in front is very busy, with hotels playing music outside; the very plain windows don't help. We requested breakfast, but it wasn't available. We asked for a taxi to the airport, and they suggested we take it ourselves. Given the number of hotels in the area, we would certainly have found better for the same price.
We had a great time with Madan and his lovely family, if you’re looking for a more personal and intimate stay in KTM this is your place.
