Hôtel Mortens Kro Restaurant & Boutique

Mortens Kro is and will remain Aalborg's culinary stronghold. The food is fantastic, the service is also fantastic. Even though this visit was during Aalborg Eat Out, nothing was spared.

Modern Danish gastronomy with open sandwiches and fried pork. Elegant atmosphere since 1997. Aalborg's culinary highlight!

I was turned away from the hotel even though I had already paid for my stay and had been notified through Booking at 8:00 PM that, due to my flight cancellation, I would be late. The hotel stated that check-in was possible until midnight, and the attached restaurant stated its closing time was 2:00 AM. However, I received no response and had to find another hotel to stay. The next day, I received a message from Booking informing me that they do not respond to messages after 6:00 PM. I was able to speak to the owner only two days later, and he told me to contact Booking by phone to raise my complaint. Furthermore, he refused to provide me with the invoice for my stay, claiming, contrary to what was stated on the website, that Booking is responsible for issuing it. I explained that since I was traveling for work, I needed the invoice to obtain reimbursement from my agency, but there was nothing they could do. I had never had anything like this happen to me in my entire life. A terrible experience.

If you’re visiting from overseas, avoid this restaurant. Very racist towards clients even tho surprisingly this is a hotel too. They made it purposefully very difficult for us, so that when we asked to leave after about 30 min, they were very happy to see to it. They didn’t even try to ask us what’s the problem or if they can rectify it. We were a group of 6 people from 3 different countries visiting the danfish expo.

Super nice place with good drinks and delicious food. We arrived at Mortens Kro where after we were escorted to the suite. Here we were given a tour of the suite and all information was given personally. We were then delivered snacks and cocktails in the suite, this was really delicious and highly recommended. The next morning we were served breakfast in the suite which consisted of 2 types of cheese, skyr, bacon, eggs and a delicious chicken salad. In addition there was both juice and tea/coffee. Highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel in the middle of Aalborg. Super service and suites of a very high standard. Stayed in a penthouse apartment with an outdoor jacuzzi, it is definitely recommended. 👍🏻😁 Fantastic breakfast which was served in the room.
