The food is exquisite and the service was exceptional. The restaurant was so charming.

We just wanted to have a drink outside on the comfortable benches, but the very friendly waiter explained that he was alone and unfortunately this wasn't possible, even when we offered to take the drinks out and the glasses back in ourselves. The smiling reply was, "Unfortunately not, but have a nice day." Too bad, but we wish you a nice day too.

We really enjoyed ourselves by the tiled stove ;-) Thank you so much for the great atmosphere in the team and the lovely evening!

Well. Personally, I can't confirm the many positive reviews: - The waiter was quite rude at first (typical Berlin attitude?), but in the long run, it just comes across as impolite. - The food was quite salty. - The portions were a bit too small for the price. - The Königsberger Klopse (meatballs) tasted more like liver dumplings, and they were missing capers. - I would have expected a more rustic atmosphere for such an old restaurant. The risotto, however, was very tasty. Conclusion: more of a tourist trap, and I wouldn't eat there again.

We had a great time and the food was delicious. Our boss had rented the entire restaurant. We were served a selection from the menu. Everything tasted fantastic. And the service was excellent.

This is supposedly Berlin's oldest restaurant, but the staff were young, and the menu felt quite youthful. The terrace was packed, and without a reservation, we were told to wait while they prepared our table. However, the indoor area was empty, and we were seated immediately. The interior has a nice, old-fashioned, and calming atmosphere. The food has the strong, typically German flavors. I wished there were more menu options; the choices were limited.

Making a reservation seems to be a good idea. Thank goodness we had one. The food was great. The service was fantastic. Thank you! 🥰

I would like to visit

This is the oldest restaurant in Berlin and we made a reservation ahead of time. We ordered the Spargelcremesuppe (Cream of Asparagus Soup), Eingelegtes Gemüse (Pickled Vegetables), Kohlwickel (German Cabbage Rolls), Königsberger Klopse, along with a Jubiläums-Pilsner beer. The service was among the best we experienced in Berlin. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and genuinely cheerful throughout the meal, which made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was excellent across the board. The asparagus soup was rich and comforting, while both the Kohlwickel and Königsberger Klopse showcased traditional German cuisine at its best. Every dish was well prepared and full of flavor. The restaurant is also known for serving one of the best pork knuckles in Berlin. Unfortunately, we skipped it because we had several disappointing pork knuckle experiences earlier in our trip. Looking back, that was probably a mistake and something we regret not trying. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience with great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
