The George Hamburg

We only went to the cocktail bar...high prices...but very tasty.

When the sun is shining, it's a lovely spot to enjoy a cocktail. The Alster lake, the Hamburg skyline (without the harbor for once), and the sunset.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at The George Hotel Hamburg. The hotel is truly beautifully designed – very stylish, cozy, and with great attention to detail. We particularly enjoyed the excellent drinks, the delicious food, the lovely garden area, and the spa, even though it's rather small. The location is also superb. We stayed for one night with our child and dog, and everything was generally professional – no one made a mistake, and the service was always impeccable. However, we were left with a feeling that I'd like to share honestly: We had the impression that, as a family with a dog, we didn't quite fit the typical clientele and were therefore treated with a bit more reserve. Not unfriendly or unpleasant – more like distant and not very welcoming. At the end of our stay, we weren't asked if we had enjoyed our stay, which reinforced this impression somewhat. We found this disappointing, because otherwise, we could easily have imagined returning. That's precisely why we wanted to pass on this feedback – perhaps it will help ensure that all guests experience the same warm and welcoming atmosphere in the future.

We had 4 wonderful days. Central location, bus stop right outside (3 lines). Breakfast was great – a perfect way to start the day.

The very pleasant and tastefully decorated Hotel The George is located on the second row of buildings along the Alster lake in the lovely St. Georg district, just a 15-minute walk from the main train station. Not cheap, but highly recommended!

Hamburg is worth a visit, but staying at The George Hotel makes it twice as nice. The staff alone are incredibly attentive, from reception to service to room service – very friendly, discreet, yet always present. The hotel bar is also worth a visit, and the breakfast buffet surpasses all expectations.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at The George Hotel Hamburg. The staff at both reception and in the restaurant were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout my visit. My room was spacious, very clean, and thoughtfully laid out, with a practical bathroom and stylish décor that perfectly matched the hotel’s elegant overall design concept. Breakfast was beautifully presented, offering a wide variety of quality products, with eggs freshly prepared to order. Overall, a stylish and very comfortable hotel experience in Hamburg that I would happily return to.

We stayed at the George Hotel at the end of April for my partner's 60th birthday. We enjoyed it very much; the design was beautiful, and the rooms were lovely. We were on the top floor with a balcony and had a beautiful view of the Alster lake. The service was excellent, as was the breakfast – it couldn't have been better.
