Unfortunately, the sauna's website has been updated to state that the three days of the Pentecost weekend are mixed-gender. I find this misleading and frustrating for gay men who have been looking forward to this all-male weekend and may have booked a cabin for the entire weekend well in advance. A gay sauna should remain exclusively gay.
Have fun and enjoy the wide selection of food and drinks 😜
I was there on February 14th for a wellness weekend (Saturday evening) and it was fantastic. The sauna was packed, there were great infusions again, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There's an (unexpectedly) large selection of food, like in a restaurant. The staff behind the counter were also very friendly. Vulkan should offer more events, for example, a regular bear sauna or maybe a foam party. ***Addendum: Now comes the big "but": When I suggested an additional event, I certainly didn't mean an event with women or heterosexuals (like the one now offered for Pentecost according to your website). It's a shame, but this is a step backward for the sauna, so I'm deducting 3 stars.***
A traditional gay bathhouse. An institution in Hanover and in Germany. Friendly staff and good food!
We were there on Wellness Evening (Saturday) and felt very comfortable. The staff is nice and friendly, we'd gladly come again. // Addendum from May 14, 2026: We wanted to visit you again for Pentecost, but you're holding Hetero/Women/Mixed Days on all three days of your "gay sauna"? What's that all about??? We're put off for now and will go somewhere else.
