INSELHOTEL Potsdam-Hermannswerder

It was amazing! Beautifully located, the rooms, food, spa, friendliness, and service were all exceptionally good. The dog care with its own menu was absolutely superb and so thoughtful. The team was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the decor showed great attention to detail. I would 100% recommend it!

Everything was great during the day, but unfortunately there were some limitations in the evening, as the bar wanted to close at 10 pm. (despite many guests and a DFB Cup match 🤔)

I stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a business trip. First, the positives: The room was clean, the location is very nice, and the breakfast was extensive. Unfortunately, the hotel as a whole is quite dated and has clearly seen better days. I was accommodated in an unrenovated room overlooking the parking lot, which exuded the charm of the early 2000s. There was visible mold on the silicone sealant in the bathroom, and some tiles were cracked. Furthermore, the paint was peeling from the gold-plated lamps above the bed, and the carpet clearly showed signs of at least 20 years of use. The wooden elements also showed significant wear and tear. Another problem was the curtain, which didn't serve its purpose as a curtain (see photo). Consequently, my night ended with the sunrise. The hotel website also advertises a fitness center. However, it turned out that this information was partially outdated. In the morning, I wanted to work out there but found mostly broken equipment: Both treadmills were out of order, as was one of the two elliptical trainers. Instead of the advertised two rowing machines, there was only one. Furthermore, there were no dumbbells or other exercise weights at all – only cardio equipment was available. Not convincing for a four-star wellness hotel. I seriously doubt whether this is truly "one of the best conference and wellness hotels..." (quote from the website). In my opinion, the hotel is now primarily benefiting from its good location and former reputation.

Great rooms, great staff, only the attached restaurant is a bit lifeless… still a very cool hotel.

Quiet location, the waiters in the restaurant are real waiters, they serve from the right. Delicious food. We always enjoy coming back.

Thank you again so much for the perfect stay. The value for money was outstanding. The location was beautiful, and the service from every single member of staff was world-class. The owner of this hotel can be very proud of them; you don't find this kind of service very often anymore. The tastefully furnished rooms offered stunning views of the water. The spa area instantly created a sense of peace and relaxation. The lakeside sauna was a particular highlight. I would return just for the food in the restaurant. Top quality. We'll be back!
