Hôtel Ares Athens

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I never post Google reviews but I needed to here. I stayed here for 1.5 nights and on the night we were leaving, I was awaken by a sudden itch on hand and discovered bed bugs. The photos of the hotel on Expedia look absolutely nothing like the place in real life. You can tell immediately that the towels, bed linens, and everything in the room are not cleaned properly. The blanket literally had blood stains, which I unfortunately didn’t discover until it was too late. I also found clear bed bugs poop stains on the blanket too. There was also someone’s else hair spider on the wall in the shower. They clearly love to cut corners and don’t give a damn about basic EU health and safety standards. I know it’s a budget hotel, but this is even a step below “budget”. Don’t stay here unless you love crusty hard towels, rock hard mattresses, blood stained linens, and bed bugs! The hotel reception literally didn’t give a shit about any of this when I packed my bags and left at 4am in the morning to get the hell out of that hole. Currently pursuing a complaint and refund through Expedia.

Bed bugs, blood on the sheets and piss on the mattress. Front desk acted like he can’t do anything and barely apologized. Crazy experience.

The hotel is rated 2 stars. I stayed on the top floor, the eighth. The room has access to the terrace. The cleaning is excellent, and towels are changed daily. There's a small refrigerator. The metro station is 2 minutes away. I was satisfied with my 7-day stay at this hotel. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a duvet cover. There's a sheet under the duvet. It's uncomfortable. The sheet slips off at night.

Nothing incredibly special and not spectacularly located, but very well connected and with very friendly staff. Definitely recommended for the relatively low price.

I recommend this hotel, it's right in the center, everything is close to the Acropolis, a 15-minute walk away. The room is clean and there's a duvet, which was a very positive surprise. The price for this hotel is really great. I highly recommend it 😊

Unfortunately the hotel is a disappointment. I paid but in the end I didn't stay. I was looking for something for a night because we had a party nearby. The rooms are not what the apps usually show. The furniture is old and worn. The floors reminded me of a kidnapping movie. There was no blanket. The sheets were dirty. I clicked on it because I saw the wrong photos.

Good place budget option basic but confortable no breakfast but many chooses in the area
