Hôtel Watertoren West

Fantastic place!

What a beautiful place! A top-notch stay that is spacious, unique, and fully equipped. From a microwave and stovetop to a dishwasher. Given that you occupy half of a round building with lots of windows, you have a view over most of Groningen. We enjoyed it immensely! The reception was unstaffed, so we didn't see anyone, hence only 3 stars for service, but there was simply nothing to complain about.

Unique concept. Everything is modern and neat. The rooms are semi-circular and feature stairs. Nice, but not really practical. You can park on the street nearby, but with a parking meter. The city center is within walking distance, and there is a Jumbo supermarket with a bakery nearby.

Had a fantastic stay, very nice staff who are very flexible regarding arrangements. If we are ever in Groningen again, we will definitely book again!

Beautiful location and lovely apartment. Initially experienced some inconvenience from noise disturbance. This was resolved quickly and properly after reporting it. Highly recommended!

The location was excellent. The price-quality ratio is completely disproportionate. Communication was downright poor. Our shower wasn't working properly, but it couldn't be fixed on the day we reported it. So, we showered for two days with a trickle of water and no pressure. Draining the water was also a problem; you're basically standing in a puddle because the water isn't draining properly. For €250 a night, I expect more. This price is disproportionate to the service provided.

Last month, my best friend and I took a weekend trip to Rotterdam and stayed at Hotel Watertoren West. The location couldn't have been better, literally next to the tram stop and you can walk straight into the city center. Super convenient; we didn't have to plan anything.

A solid 5 stars 👍 I came mainly for the view (with snacks and drinks). Due to a misunderstanding, which the water tower couldn't even control, I found the door closed. Later that day, I was able to visit and received true VIP treatment: plenty of time to enjoy the view (with camera and binoculars) and admire this building with so much history. Fantastic! I will definitely be back.
