Scheveningen Dunes (Zwarte Pad)

The dunes behind Scheveningen's Noorderstrand — the stretch north of the Zwarte Pad toward Meijendel — are The Hague's best-known outdoor gay cruising area, long tolerated and closely tied to the signposted naturist beach between beach posts 96 and 98. Activity is busiest on warm days from late morning into the early evening. To reach it, take tram 1 or 9 to Zwarte Pad and walk north past the last beach pavilion. As with any dune or park cruising, keep valuables minimal, respect other beach users and take normal after-dark precautions.
