This is my first time in Moscow. It's so perfect that we chose this small hotel with a cozy atmosphere. It's ideally located in the heart of Old Arbat. All the main sights are within walking distance. The room is small, but bright and spacious, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The price was also great! We stayed for five nights and will definitely be back! We'd like to extend a special thank you to Zoya, the receptionist, and the entire hotel staff. Thank you so much for your attention and care!
I don't usually write bad reviews, but I couldn't remain indifferent. On the positive side: a very sweet local resident - a black cat))) Then there was only disappointment: 1. We arrived before check-in (around 7:00 am), and the only thing we were greeted by was the cat))) After searching for the staff, a sleepy woman came out and, when asked to leave our luggage at the hotel until check-in, replied: "Take the key to the luggage room in the nightstand, leave your luggage and return the key to the nightstand." 2. The hotel as a whole needs renovation. There are wires hanging in the room wrapped in electrical tape, black mold in the shower, the drain doesn't work, the water stays on and doesn't drain. The room smells of damp and rot. 3. And the icing on the cake was that the staff forgot about the breakfast, which we had paid for. I categorically do not recommend this hotel. Don't ruin your mood on vacation or on a business trip. Believe me, even the location of the hotel doesn't make up for the disappointment... Especially since the transport links in Moscow are very well developed)))
Three stars. The first is for the location. The second is for the cat. The third is for the friendliness of the staff. Everything else is filthy, neglected, and reeks of sewage. When checking in, you still have to figure out where it is. There are no signs or identifying marks. Just look for a door in the courtyard. Be prepared for holes in the bed linens and torn pillows. The renovations are shabby, the cleaning is terrible. Dear owners! Renovate at least one room at a time. And definitely clean the rooms properly!
The room is clean, the bed linen is fresh, the staff is polite, and robes and slippers are not provided. Parking is available in the courtyard (for a fee). Since the GPS wasn't working, we had trouble finding our way around, but the staff was always available and guiding us around. The location is convenient—everything is close by. I personally liked the Bulgakov-inspired decor. High ratings for the price/location/staff ratio.
A comfortable, cozy room. The location couldn't be better. The staff was attentive and polite. Special thanks to the receptionist, Sofia, and the hotel mascot, Marsik, for the pleasant conversations!
We stayed at the hotel for four days. If you don't plan to stay long and just need to sleep and shower, it's fine. A plus is that the hotel is located right on Arbat, three minutes from the metro. Finding the hotel entrance is difficult. A huge drawback is that they don't give you keys for the intercom, and every time you return to the hotel, you have to wait and wonder if they'll even open the door for you. The door was rarely open. Usually, they opened it quickly, but there were times when we had to wait, and it was already nighttime. If you have heavy suitcases, be prepared to carry them up to the fourth floor (there are about 100 stairs). At the "reception" (a small room about one meter by one meter), one woman is rude and another is completely silent. No one will show you where your room is. The guy at reception was great; he offered to carry our suitcases down himself when we checked out. The pillowcases were stained. For the entire four days, they didn't even bother to sweep or mop the floors or change the towels or bed linens. The bathroom constantly smelled incredibly damp. Basically, unless you ask them to, they won't do anything. The room was small, not like the photo, but okay for the price. The mirror was broken. In the room, you'll meet Zhora the spider 🕷️ with his handiwork 🕸️. The cat is cute, but some of the toxically funny inscriptions, which are apparently part of the hotel, are inappropriate. The kitchen is a whole other topic for discussion; we didn't use it, but we popped in out of curiosity. Everything was dirty and greasy, just like in the comments below. Nothing has changed, nothing has been cleaned. In short, don't expect super positive vibes or smiles from this place, but if you don't care and just need to sleep and shower, it's fine.
If you want to lose money, this is the place for you. They'll very politely promise you travel reimbursement documents and then refuse to give them to you. It's been over a month; I was at the hotel from August 6th to August 8th, 2024. They didn't provide me with a complete set of documents, promised to send them, but still haven't received anything. The administrators change every day, no one cares what anyone promised before, they delete all correspondence, and it's impossible to achieve anything.
