Ce que disent les critiques

Visitors often praise the hotel's excellent location next to the train station and its beautiful, grand lobby. However, many complain about the very limited and difficult parking situation, as well as the hotel showing its age with outdated rooms and some cleanliness issues like mold.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the night staff. The room was clean and comfortable with all the usual and expected items and little luxuries. Even though located right next to the railway station, inside the hotel it was peaceful and quiet. The only criticism that I will make, and this is of Inverness Council and not of the Royal Highland Hotel, is that 80% to 90% of the disabled parking spaces in the 4 or 5 streets nearest to thd hotel were blocked by cars with no disabled badges. Fortunately the hotel staff managed to reserve for me a disabled bay next to the hotel, whdn if became vacant. There is no point in having designated disabled parking if the regulations are not enforced. The hotel and staff were great.

Lovely old hotel with very limited parking spaces. A pleasantly small but very functional attic room.

Like most hotels in the UK they need to up their game as far as catering to persons with coeliac disease and other dietary requirements for medical reasons. The hotel is stunningly beautiful but breakfast was very very ordinary as were the choices of a hot meal at night.

I've known this hotel, like the Highlands, for many years. It's very well located, the lobby is magnificent, and the armchairs, both for breakfast and tea, are of high quality. However, I couldn't understand where the usual Scottish staff were this week. I only encountered Indians, I believe, under the watchful eye of a man who was also Indian and seemed like a real terror! We were served a mediocre cocktail and an old whisky without even a napkin under the glass, and to make matters worse, when I asked for a small glass of water to accompany my whisky between sips, I was given hot tap water. Of course, it's a hotel with a certain Victorian style, but the atmosphere isn't what it used to be. The small tea room now only serves processed food, the breakfast is disgusting, and if you want a real Scottish breakfast, this isn't the place to go. It's worth remembering that guests pay a fairly high price for their rooms, and that we're not all penniless backpackers ;-). This hotel is declining in popularity. I've been staying here for almost 15 years, several times a year, and now we're going to try something different... However, if you're coming for a proper afternoon tea, the tables and chairs are comfortable, and there's a pleasant atmosphere.

The hotel is right next to the train station, and the small forecourt is crowded with taxis, buses, and hotel guests trying to park there. The name is grandiose, but it doesn't live up to the promise. From the outside, it's gloomy, and inside it's clearly showing its age.

Lots to say... No parking, or very little. The hotel is outdated. You walk in and find nice decor and a beautiful staircase. Then, a cold shower. My room on the third floor, under the eaves, was old-fashioned and poorly insulated. It overlooked the train station and its passing (and noisy) trains. The ventilation was very noisy, and there was constant background noise (plumbing, outside noise, etc.). The staff was not very friendly. Not to mention the breakfast, which you pay for and then have to pay again if you want the "English Breakfast." I do not recommend it.

All good except difficult to park. Hotel has problems with others using spaces reserved for hotel guests.
