Ako Suite Hotel

Exceptional location, comfortable suites, and a smart choice for exploring Barcelona on foot! When you travel with some experience, you learn that staying near the city center is always the best decision. While hotels further out might seem cheaper, you end up wasting time and money on transportation. We chose Ako Suite Hotel for two main reasons: its excellent location and its partnership with the Marriott chain, where we hold benefits. It turned out to be the perfect decision for our 3-night stay. Barcelona is an incredible city to explore by walking, and from this hotel, everything was within walking distance. We walked to Plaça Catalunya, Las Ramblas, Passeig de Gràcia (to see Casa Batlló and La Pedrera), and the Palau de la Música. We even managed to walk all the way to the Gothic Quarter and the magnificent Sagrada Família Basilica! We barely needed to use public transportation at all. The suite itself was extremely comfortable for two people. It comes equipped with a microwave, a small refrigerator, and a dishwasher—just the right and necessary amenities for a comfortable, secure, and practical stay. Additionally, the breakfast was spectacular, perfect for fueling up and saving time before heading out to wander the streets. Ako Suite has it all at a very acceptable and high-quality level. Highly recommended for anyone looking to truly experience Barcelona!

The bathroom with glass walls is a disgrace, and the last wall is made of plastic, so it blocks sunlight into the second bedroom, making it one of the worst ideas ever.

Friendly and kind staff. Unfortunately, that’s about all I can say for a hotel room at this price point. The room is not large enough for four people (two adults and two children). There was also an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom area. The location is convenient, with easy access to the metro, shops, and other central areas. However, I would not consider it a particularly family-friendly part of town. Overall, I do not feel the hotel offers good value for the price.

We stayed for two nights at the Ako Suite in Barcelona. Overall, the rooms were bright, clean, and well-maintained, which are certainly positive aspects that contribute to a good first impression of the property. However, a significant incident occurred during our stay that compromised the overall experience. In one of the assigned rooms, the staff repainted the bathroom while the room was occupied. The strong, persistent smell of paint made the environment unhealthy and decidedly unpleasant, making it difficult to stay in the room. We reported the issue, but the property offered no room change or compensation, demonstrating a lackadaisical handling of the inconvenience caused. Furthermore, we note that there is no exhaust system in the bathrooms: this makes it difficult to properly ventilate the room, especially after use, creating an additional element of inconvenience.

Terrible. They painted the sink in the afternoon during our stay, leaving us sleeping with the smell of paint. The room is falling apart. The bathroom is in the middle of the room, with no air circulation.

Excellent service from Ileana, Leo, and Luis. We will return another time.

Overall nothing to complain about. Location is really good easy walking distance to nearby tourist attraction and shopping area. Plenty of food around. Services is good as well very attentive. Hotel made extra bed out of the sofa bed for extra comfort

A very nice hotel in a great location. The staff were helpful and gave us excellent advice for our visit to Barcelona. The rooms are pleasant and clean.
