Hôtel Sitges

We booked this hotel for two nights because the pictures online made it look like we'd at least have a semblance of a relaxing vacation. All the photos showed beautiful rooms with a terrace or balcony. The reality on site: a dreary room in the annex with a panoramic view of Catalan roof tiles and the futility of human expectations. The hotel felt emptier than the website had promised, yet we were supposedly given "the last available room." Interestingly, this masterpiece of hospitality smelled of urine upon entering – presumably the hotel's olfactory welcome. The bathroom resembled an archaeological dig from the early Limestone period: limescale-encrusted fixtures, tiny, and with the atmosphere of a train station toilet just before midnight. The rooms are also so poorly soundproofed that you could probably overhear the thoughts of the next room. The reception staff displayed about as much customer service as a parking meter. When we pointed out that only rooms with terraces were advertised online, we received nothing more than an indifferent shrug, along the lines of, "Yeah, that's just how the pictures are." Oh, how fascinating that misleading advertising is now simply being sold as a stylistic device. After repeated inquiries, we were suddenly told the hotel was fully booked. Impressive, considering we could have practically bowled our way through the hallways without bumping into anyone. The tasteless jokes about the city tax were particularly professional. They grinned and asked us if we "really need a receipt" for that. Whether that was just embarrassing humor or accidental honesty is up to you to decide. The location is also a bit of an adventure: far from the beach, but at least close enough to disappointment. In short: If you're looking for a hotel that consistently delivers the opposite of its advertising photos, combines poor service with arrogant excuses, and wants to make you feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden camera prank—congratulations, you've found it here.

Extremely overrated. The reception staff were unfriendly. The TV wasn't smart, and it ended up being expensive for what little it offered. There wasn't even a mini-fridge in the rooms.

We were a group of 40 people. Therefore, we had a lot of second rooms. Our room was very nice, but those with single rooms found them too small. The bed was large, but the rest of the space was cramped, and there was barely enough room to put our luggage. In any case, for me, the worst part was the check-in time: almost an hour and a half. The woman who checked us in was in a pretty bad mood. I can understand that if 40 people arrive unexpectedly, things can get a bit overwhelming, but this place had been booked months in advance. There's definitely room for improvement there.

A pleasant suprise

Fantastic hotel in Sitges! Beautiful room, lovely exotic garden, excellent and generous breakfasts, and close to the center (12-minute walk).

Overall, it is a fantastic choice if you are looking for great value and a good location. The property is kept exceptionally clean, and the rooms themselves are very nice and well-maintained. We stayed in a room for two people, and while it was definitely on the smaller side, it was comfortable and exactly what we needed for our trip. The only downside to our stay was a bit of a lack of privacy regarding noise. It is very easy to hear sounds from neighboring rooms during the night, and the sound of doors banging in the hallway outside is quite loud. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring a pair of earplugs. Despite the noise issues, I would still highly recommend it. In general, it is a super nice hotel, the location is incredibly convenient, and it offers absolutely great value for the money!
