The owners were amazing and very attentive. Harley the dog was also hugely welcoming, especially at meal times! We didn't visit the local town, so I can't comment fully on the location, but the Hall seemed quite remote, i.e. not overly "touristy". Our room was huge and was great value; the same could be said about the food, sizeable portions and superb quality.
The cottage is extremely dated, paint is peeling, the kitchen and bathroom are extremeky tired snd old. There's a smell of damp upon entry. There is no pint of milk, or starter pack of tea or coffee. Window handles are broken. A truly disappointing level of substandard of accommodation.
A great dinner & breakfast to set us on our way on the coast-to-coast. Thank you to all the team.
Very peaceful want to stay here forever
A treat from my friends for my 60th birthday. We arrived at Moresby Hall, through a very small gateway, on a bleak day. As we entered the Hall we were greated by a beautiful fireplace with comfortable couches and a lovely lady at the desk. She showed us to our room up a very grand staircase and told us we had booked the smallest room in the Hall so they had upgraded us. The room was huge with a large 4 poster bed, chairs and small table, large wardrobe, tv, dressing table and coffee station. There were biscuits, tea and coffee, hot chocolate, plenty of milk and decent sized mugs. The bathroom was clean and the shower was all singing and dancing. There were complimentary toiletries and a shower cap. Breakfast was delicious and they catered for my gluten free diet. The ladies serving were very friendly and informative and Harley the dog was cute. The Hall is stunning inside and is full of history. It looks quite unloved on a grey day but when the sun shines it brings out the stunning building that it is. We were also given a bottle of prosecco for my birthday on our departure.
