easyHotel Glasgow City Centre

easyHotel Glasgow is basically the “bare necessities” version of a hotel, and honestly, that’s not necessarily a bad thing as long as you know what you’re booking. As an American traveler used to more full-service hotels, this was definitely a different experience, but it served its purpose well in several areas. One major positive was that the staff held our bags when we arrived in town early, which made exploring Glasgow much easier before check-in. The front desk staff overall were friendly and helpful enough throughout the stay. The location is also excellent, with easy access to walking routes, buses, and the subway. The room itself was actually decently sized for a budget hotel. We had two twin beds with enough room to function comfortably, and the air conditioning worked extremely well, keeping the room cool the entire stay. We also had a windowless room, which honestly felt very similar to an interior cabin on a cruise ship, and we didn’t mind it at all. That said, this is a true no-frills experience. There are no tissues, toiletries, cups, or extras whatsoever. If you didn’t bring it with you, you probably won’t have it. There were plenty of power outlets, although almost all of them were located beside only one bed. The TV placement was also a little awkward since it doesn’t swivel. The bathroom was by far the weakest part of the experience. The shower takes up most of the bathroom space, so the entire floor becomes wet almost immediately. The shower curtain setup is frustrating, with the hooks constantly getting stuck while moving it around, and the curtain doesn’t really prevent water from going everywhere anyway. There is also essentially zero counter space, no hand towel, and only one bath towel per guest. Overall, if you go in understanding that this is a minimalist budget hotel focused primarily on location and affordability, it does the job well. The cool room, convenient location, and helpful staff were all positives, but the bathroom setup and complete lack of amenities are definitely things travelers should be prepared for.

When I booked this hotel very close where I need to be stupidly early in the morning I never expected a 4* experience But I was pleasantly surprised. For one night, somewhere to sleep and shower it is all I need. Bijou, compact and simple it suits. I wouldn't want to stay more than one night but a single night is fine.

Room was very clean. Hotel is situated close to places to eat. Very central to get to the bus station or train station.

​Good for a night, but lacks ventilation Stayed here for a short trip. You can’t beat the location for this price; it's close to everything you need in Glasgow. The room was spotless but very tight. My main issue was the lack of shelving/storage and the fact that the windows are sealed. The humidity after showering stays in the room for a long time, making it feel stuffy. You are entirely dependent on the air conditioning. Fine for a quick stopover, but not for longer stays.
