À propos de ce lieu Roundhay Park

Roundhay Park is one of the largest city parks in Europe, about three miles northeast of Leeds city centre in LS8. For years it has been reported as a gay cruising spot, mainly in the wooded areas and lakeside paths reached from Mansion Lane. By day it is a busy family park with playgrounds, lakes and dog walkers, so any cruising is discreet and mostly happens in the evening during the warmer months. Sex in a public place can lead to prosecution in the UK, so keep well away from main paths and family areas. The woods are unlit after dark. Go with your phone charged, tell someone where you are, and leave valuables at home.

A lovely first experience of this beautiful park, albeit only visiting a small section. My wife and I had VIP tickets for the Saturday night of the Roundhay Festival, interested solely in seeing Lewis Capaldi perform live. We were there for around 2-3 hours, but had the joy of seeing some of the picturesque views of the park when we walked from the car park, which was located south of the festival enclosure. It looked clean and well maintained - a place I imagine will be busy in the height of summer. The gig itself was amazing and the amphitheater, where Lewis Capaldi performed, was a memorable location with the surrounding banks holding the sound in. The queues were a bit manic when exiting, with a couple of bottle neck points slowing things down, but it did nothing to dampen ours or any of the other 30,000 people’s spirits!

Visited here for Roundhay Festival. Excellent venue for live music. Great organisation on entry/exit. Ample toilets. Countless food outlets to choose from. Hoping it will be on again next year!

Me and my 4 year old visited the park after a short visit to Tropical World… thought this would have lasted longer but no. Park was lovely and clean and a great walk around the lake!

We were blown away by this beautiful park with its lakes, walks, gardens and so much more to explore. We had a treasure trail to complete which had us exploring all over the areas of the place. Free to enter, there is so much to do with cafes to enjoy a break with plenty of seating, it didn't seem busy although there were plenty of people there. Who knew there was such a great place so close to Leeds City Centre!!

Amazing place. Great gardening and many majestic trees. I love this place. In early autumn and it is possible to see the leaves if they are on the ground

We are so lucky to have this huge and varied park in the city. You can run and walk for miles round its paths. Enjoy a relaxing day by the lakes, or explore the woods and hills. There is a cafe at the Mansion House at the top end, and another cafe on Waterloo Lake.

Lovely park to walk around but infested with dogs not on their leads. Having young children with is makes for very uneasy walking. High time all dogs be kept on short leads and on the spot fines for reckless owners who let them off their leads.

Roundhay Park is a stunning urban oasis just north of Leeds, haven of tranquil lakes, manicured formal gardens, and lush woodlands. As a visitor, I was completely charmed by leisurely walks around the serene Waterloo Lake, the vibrant Canal and Monet Gardens ablaze with seasonal blooms, and the welcoming family-friendly spaces like adventure trails and play areas. A beautifully maintained park that balances natural splendor, leisure activities, and seasonal charm.

This stunning park is well worth a visit if you're up North and it is huge. The play area could do with a few more swings but other than that it was an impressive size although I have seen bigger (Lister Park in Bradford).Bouncy castles and a land train got a big thumbs up from the kids but it was the lake full of swans that did it for me and they easily outnumbered the ducks. We came on the bus which stopped right outside the park entrance and is about a 20 minutes drive from Leeds city centre. The ice cream van queue was long but it was to be expected on such a sunny day and to be fair the prices were reasonable.Free toilets are also in the park and there is also a cafe although it did get busy. Many big stars have performed at the park including Michael Jackson, Madonna and The Rolling Stones.

While living in Leeds, I used to say about this park, which was something our hometown had used to call a child. It's one of the few places where people can release their energy.
