Cinéma Prince Charles

My favourite movie theatre in London. Their singalongs are a blast! Also the movie programme is well curated, always a pleasure.

First time ever being here.. The experience was amazing honestly such a lovely place and the people who came to watch the LOTR marathon are so nice no one was loud or disruptive at all.. The cinema was so nice honestly and very unique because the worker came to the front of the cinema and basically gave the speech that Bilbo gives in the first LOTR but the speech was also made about safety and it was excellent the way it was done! I honestly will say I will go there again 100% for a marathon as this was my first ever marathon and it was 12 hours nearly died doing it.. so bad my mate even slept on the floor for like 40 minutes hahaha!! The bar downstairs is open till 2am which as brilliant it helped keep everyone awake and alive and the bar upstairs St the main front is always open which was really needed for the last film! The pictures are to show the energy we had for the first film then the second film and when we finally finished we was all basically dead.. loool!! Honestly 10/10 for this cinema and also the amazing crew working that long night shift!!

So, so good and what a selection of films. Long live the PCC!

it’s probably the best cinema i’ve been to, all of the movies they play are very good and the membership is very cheap for what you can get (like the £1 movies they sometimes screen..) if you see a movie playing here that you like, i heavily recommend going to the cinema..!!

I love this place.

The Prince Charles Cinema is one of London's true cultural gems. It's wonderful to have a cinema dedicated to cult, classic and independent films, something that has become increasingly rare. The atmosphere is unique: the vintage interior, the charming foyer with its popcorn and sweet stands, and especially the beautiful auditorium with its huge red curtains make every visit feel like a special event. Although this cinema is an absolute gem and an oasis in the desert for lovers of cult cinema, I do have one important criticism. While I completely understand the need to keep the cinema financially sustainable, I often feel that many truly important cult films are never screened. Instead, the programme tends to repeat the same titles over and over again, while many equally important films remain absent year after year. It would be wonderful to see a broader and more adventurous selection, introducing audiences to lesser-screened masterpieces instead of relying so heavily on recurring favourites. Technically, the cinema could also benefit from some investment. The screen maybe feels a little narrow considering the size of the auditorium, and some of the seats are quite low and not particularly comfortable anymore. I genuinely hope the cinema can receive public or private funding to modernise these aspects while preserving its unique character, atmosphere, design and architecture. Despite these points, which are just suggestions to improve, Places like the Prince Charles Cinema are increasingly rare, and I sincerely hope it continues to thrive for many years to come.
