We visited in order to see the Alan Turing statue and found that quite moving with a good if brief explication. The park is something and nothing, a little oasis amongst the large brick buildings and not worth a visit in its own right but as a brief stop on a walk around central Manchester it's worth doing. It's main function seems to be to act as a focal point for the celebration of gay culture which defines the gay village in which it is situated. That's good to see given the horrid reality of Turing's treatment.
Apart from the statue of Alan Turing, it is not a particularly beautiful little park. There are, however, a few terraces along the adjacent Canal area.
This is my absolute favourite park ive been coming here for ages its just a convenient park close to both Manchester picadilly train station and oxford road train station its always clean (thanks to the volunteers we see ya) the people tend to be friendly but the homeless people tend to take advantage of their kindness to get food or money, sometimes the people tend to organise fun/sad events which is great and interesting love to support whenever i can, also roadies has been my favourite food spot to go to and this park is an excellent place to eat it since the tree give enough cover when there is light rain, oh and on the busier days/nights the police patrol tends to more in this area because of the past incidents in the area
