No42 by GuestHouse, Margate

We spent three nights at No42 and enjoyed our stay. The guesthouse is perfectly located for exploring Margate, and the parking in a nearby side street is a real bonus. We were welcomed warmly from the moment we arrived. Our room, complete with a private terrace and sea views, was everything we hoped for: spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location also makes it easy to combine your stay with a day trip to London, as the train station is just a short walk away. We visited in late April/early May, when Margate is still relatively quiet: a great time to explore at a relaxed pace. That said, one sunny Saturday gave us a glimpse of what's to come: the beach and the old town were buzzing with people, and it was already quite lively. We can only imagine how busy it gets in peak summer, so if you prefer a quieter experience, an off-season visit might be the way to go. We didn't get around to trying the spa this time but that's a great excuse to come back! Highly recommended.

Had the most incredible pregnancy massage and facial by Ellie at No42 Margate! Cannot recommend enough, she was so thoughtful, it was the most relaxed ive been in 9months!

A superb hotel with stunning views, excellent service and dog friendly. At £330 a night, it isn't cheap but it does deliver in all areas and ticks every box. Breakfast at the Pearly Cow, it's restautant, was delicious, I can recommend the full English, a big shout out to Head Chef Zoe who delivered on taste and warmth of personality. The rooms are luxuriant, I opted for a seaview with balcony room, and was rewarded with stunning weather and an afternoon actually being able to sit on it, never a given in England! Standing at the centre of the second floor is the larder, where you can help yourself to all manner of little treats, delicious cakes, pick and mix, and fruit for the health conscious; a nice little touch! Number 42 has a Spa, which I would highly recommend; my wife and I enjoyed the 'Copper Cove' a couples treatment which was indulgent and fabulous! If I return to Margate, I would stay here every day of the week!

my partner and i had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse. the room was divine and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! the guesthouse is brilliantly located and recommendations in the guidebook provided meant we were extremely entertained for the duration of our stay. would definitely recommend the couples massage, ellie and carmen were fantastic! would love to come again :)

Can't fault it, been a few times now.

We have just returned from the most wonderful overnight stay at No.42 Margate. Our room was absolutely immaculate with an amazing view overlooking the sands. (No.3) We enjoyed a beautiful meal, taking advantage of the Steak Night each Thursday. The steak was cooked to perfection, our sincere gratitude to the Chef. The ambiance within the Hotel is professional, welcoming & so relaxing. There is simply nothing to find fault with, just perfection.

Our group had a wonderful stay at No.42 this weekend. The hotel is perfectly located (walkable from the train station and close to lots of lovely restaurants and shops) and as with all the GuestHouse hotels, the rooms, decor, amenities and pantry could not have been better. Many thanks to Aimée for her help in making the group booking process so smooth, and to all the staff for ensuring we had such a brilliant stay.

Went for the Thursday steak night. Really enjoyed it. Food and service was excellent. Cocktails some of the best I have ever had. Atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing and I would recommend. I think we will be going back to try the full menu and Sunday roast. Thank you to the staff and chef.

We had such a lovely stay at no.42. The staff members were so lovely and helpful. Kevin on reception was always there to help us and always welcoming. Ellie from the spa did such a wonderful treatment on me I left feeling stress free and relaxed. The breakfasts were amazing, the breakfast chef did an amazing job every morning and dinner on our first night at the pearly cow was delicious. The room was beautiful and overlooked the sea. The housekeeping staff did a great job as the room was spotless. We're looking really looking forward to our next visit, thank you to everyone at no.42!

We stayed at No.42 by GuestHouse after our wedding and had an unforgettable experience. The team surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade and drinks on the house, which made the end of our special day even more perfect. The service was outstanding and the whole stay felt really special. Highly recommended.

No.42 was a beautiful place to stay. i booked a night and spa exp for my girlfriend and myself, for her birthday. the spa was AMAZING - we had the copper bath couples thing, and we both left feeling so rested and calm. it was honestly exceptional. the hotel itself was lovely, with lots of little things that made the experience better - the confectionary outside of our room, the Pearly Cow room service, the record player. the bath and shower room was phenomenal too. it was in a centre place, so we had a lovely wander. the staff were so friendly and sweet. the parking was ideal too, £25 overnight, and we were allowed to leave it there to wander after checking out. highly recommend 🌟
