Great Venue

Stayed for one night on their afternoon tea, fizz and room deal. Stayed in Room 3 as I am a wheelchair user. Room was very comfortable and generally well thought out for those with accessibility needs. It was really nice to have an accessible room of this standard as many establishments don't have them. Shower was very good and the shower seat very comfortable. I really liked the grab rails they had installed and how they were moveable. An extra grab rail for the bath would be good and potentially a lower mirror in the bedroom for drying hair etc. Afternoon tea was probably the best I have had. My husband and I really enjoyed it and the breakfast the next day. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. We would stay again.

AMAZING -I was lucky enough to work for Chef (Richard) as a teenager for many years and he was an amazing role model to me. When it came to finding the right wedding venue for us, we realised Assembly House was perfect for so many reasons. Stacia and Stacey are running things just as Chef did and he would be SO proud. - Check in - this was chaotic as everyone was arriving at slightly different times, chatting/ blocking doorways/ having reunions etc - but despite the chaos the staff made sure they checked people in correctly and showed them to their rooms. My godfather and his wife have lots of health concerns and their mobility is poor, they staff did not hesitate to take their stuff from the car to their room for them. Thomas was about to do it but the lovely gentlemen checking them in was already doing it. - The rooms were all GORGEOUS, very thoughtful touches in the refreshments and all pristine. (BTW all the ‘smaller’ rooms were so much bigger in real life, in comparison to the photos!) - Getting ready in the morning - the service for us girls getting ready in room one was unreal. I didn’t expect that AT ALL. I was anxious and feeing sick the entire morning. I could barely stomach anything, but the staff made sure they got me exactly what I fancied and I managed to eat something! They bought us over proper coffees and breakfast bits. We felt like royalty. There was one particular lady, I’m so sorry I didn’t ask anyone their names, Gemma will know who it was I’m sure. She couldn’t have been more responsive and attentive to us, she was amazing. - Gemma - We were so glad she was going to be there on the day, after 100s of emails to and from and several meetings, she knew our vision and us as people. She did everything we asked. She is amazing!! - Jamie - Having known him for so long, I knew he was incredible at his job, but Friday and Saturday he went above and beyond. Anything we wanted, needed, didn’t know, needed reassurance on…he sorted it. He made sure we were okay at every moment and never wanting for anything. He made us feel like royalty! All the little details I had dreamt of, he made sure happened exactly how we wanted it to happen. - Cocktail hour - food UNREAL, lots and lots of compliments, cocktails - INCREDIBLE. Both very very delicious and the guests were buzzing with excitement over them. Staff during this time - amazing, skilled, professional and attentive. - Room set up - EXACTLY as I had imagined. Thank you to all those who did this!!! - Wedding breakfast - Coordination incredible. Dealing with so many dietary requirements and allergies - amazing- no fuss. Food - unreal - so so so many complements. Service to us at the sweetheart table - incredible and very kind. - Room turn around for the evening - awesome!! Looked stunning in the evening and all extra bits set up fab exactly how I wanted. - Bar in the evening- coped incredible, never a long line of people waiting. Staff kind and lovely. - I wish I had said thank you more to all of these staff in person and hope people know I was super overwhelmed and just didn’t think!! Not because I didn’t think any of these things about them!! - Next day - incredible food and service for the breakfast. Gorgeous table set up reusing our bits. Nobody wanted for anything because the staff were there to get them whatever they needed. - You should be so incredibly proud of ALL of your staff who worked our wedding. Please pass on this feedback to everyone who worked across these three days. Chef would have been so immensely proud that the service and work ethic he instilled in all his staff has continued to this day. That day was a long time coming for us and you guys made it everything we dreamt of and more. Thank you!!!!

Nice afternoon cream tea in super old building

My husband and I went for my 69th birthday recently. We were put up in the fireplace on a very small table with no room to move after our food and pots of tea came while there was plenty of empty larger more comfortable tables for an elderly couple. Food was average and I had to ask twice for some water. Lovely setting though and attentive staff.

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. We stayed in Room 2, which looked nice on the website but even better in real life. Breakfast was lovely, quality ingredients for the Full English, which were cooked to perfection. Happy to see a beautiful breakfast bar, too. Special mention deserves the Orchard Fruit Salad; heaven with some natural yoghurt. It is a delicious and healthy breakfast offering, put on the menu by someone who really knows what they are doing. Would gladly stay here again. Strong recommendation. ♡♡♡♡♡♡

Went here for a lunchtime classical music concert and it had a lovely room for the event

This beautiful house is just stunning. Service is above and beyond, food delicious and rooms magical; including air con! We stayed 2 nights to attend a family wedding reception here. Central location in Norwich a real bonus, with plenty to see and do, with lovely eateries - all on foot. Will definitely stay here again and strongly recommend. A hidden gem!

Visited to attend evening performance of the Katona twins. Bar service a bit slow, none at the intermission. The room itself was very hot with very poor ventilation on a warm summers evening-somewhat uncomfortable just like the chairs.

The Assembly House was absolutely exceptional for our celebration on June 20th. From start to finish, every detail was handled with brilliance and care. What sets the Assembly House apart is that they provide their own event coordinator - Gemma - who guides you through the entire process. From our very first consultation, Gemma was reassuring and knowledgeable, making us feel secure and confident. The entire team demonstrated remarkable knowledge, professionalism, and genuine warmth throughout. They were accommodating, friendly, and had a genuine can-do attitude that made planning and executing our event seamless. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely outstanding. The chefs clearly work with the finest local products, and it showed in every dish. Our guests raved about the quality and taste throughout the evening. The Music Room itself is truly stunning - an absolutely beautiful space that provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We also stayed in Room 1, which is one of the most amazing traditional English rooms we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The bathroom alone is the largest we've encountered! What really touched us was when we accidentally left a couple of items in our room after leaving. The staff didn't just find them - they went out of their way to contact us and ensure we could collect them at our convenience. That level of care and attention is rare. If you're planning an event, we'd absolutely encourage you to book a consultation. Everything about the Assembly House is first class. If we could give more than five stars, we absolutely would. Wonderful Cinderella themed afternoon tea. Our only gripe was having 3 instead of the usual 4 finger sandwiches. We've been many times for the various themes and this one was definitely smaller on the savoury parts. Staff were lovely.
