Gay Saunas in Strasbourg: The Real Map
Strasbourg's sauna scene is small but genuinely alive — three venues, each with a different personality, all within a short tram ride of the city centre. One is a classic men-only institution that has been running since 1991; one is a modern complex that pairs a sauna with a cruising club under the same roof; and one is a mixed libertine spa with dedicated men's days. Here is how they actually compare.
| Venue | Type | Who goes / days | Facilities | Entry | Hours | Rating | Address | Since |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sauna Equateur | Sauna — 100% gay | Men only, every day | Dry sauna (essence infusions), hammam 43°C with essential oils, labyrinth, private cabins, video room, glory holes, dark room, lounge areas | Varies by time & duration | 7 days a week | 4.4★ (63) | 5 rue de Rosheim (near the station) |

| Drak Sauna | Sauna — gay & mixed (part of Le Complex) |

| ANTRACTE- LE COMPLEX | Cruising / sex club (same building as Drak) |
Men; all tendencies on the Complex's mixed days | Club side of Le Complex: cruising areas, slings, cabins — play rather than spa | Combined pass with Drak from 19€ | Same schedule as Le Complex | — | 2a rue Moll | — |
| Oxydo Sauna | Libertine sauna — mixed & gay days | Weekly rota: men-only days, mixed days, couples' evening | Sauna, hammam, bar | — | Check day's theme before visiting | — | 3 place Clément (city centre) |
2013 (renov. 2020) |
Facilities, prices and schedules are taken from each venue's official site (August 2026) — always check before you travel; "—" means the venue doesn't publish that detail.
Good to know: the building at 2a rue Moll — "Le Complex" — also houses ANTRACTE- LE COMPLEX, Strasbourg's cruising and sex club. Same entrance ecosystem, different experience: Drak is the sauna side, Antracte is the club side. Check which door you actually want before you pay.
Which one is for you?
Sauna Équateur — the classic
The city's only fully gay sauna, open since 1991 and still the default answer to "where do I go first?". It sits in a large first-floor apartment a few minutes from the train station, and the crowd is exclusively gay, bi and curious men. Facilities run deeper than most first-timers expect — dry sauna with essence infusions, a 43°C hammam with essential oils, labyrinth, private cabins, video room, glory holes and a dark room — and its Google rating (4.4 from 60+ reviews) is unusually strong for the category. If you only have one evening in Strasbourg, this is the safe bet.
Drak Sauna — the newer complex
Part of Le Complex on rue Moll, Drak runs a split week: mixed days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, men's days otherwise — check the schedule before you go if the crowd matters to you. Note it also takes an annual summer break (in 2026: 27 July to 16 August). Sharing a roof with the Antracte club means the whole building leans adult and cruisy rather than spa-serene.
Oxydo — the libertine option
Oxydo (opened 2013, renovated 2020) is not a dedicated gay sauna — it is a libertine spa in the city centre that runs a weekly rotation: several men-only days, mixed days, and a couples' evening. On the men's days it functions as a gay sauna in everything but name; on other days expect a genuinely mixed crowd. Its own tagline is "mixed and gay", which is exactly right.
Practical notes
All three are central or near-central: Équateur is walkable from the station, Le Complex and Oxydo sit inside the city core, and Strasbourg's tram network (CTS) covers all of them. Standard French sauna etiquette applies — towel in communal areas, shower first, no photos, minimum age 18. Weekend evenings are busiest everywhere; Équateur's quieter weekday afternoons are the local tip for a relaxed first visit.
