Hôtel Duque Boutique & Spa

I booked a room with two beds, but upon arrival, I found it was unavailable. There was only one room with a double bed (they wanted me to share the bed with someone else). They offered no solution, claiming they had no other room, and refused to issue a refund, saying they had my room blocked for the entire time I spent looking for another hotel (approximately one hour). It's unpleasant to travel 700 km by car and encounter this situation. I WILL NOT RETURN! This is not a place I would recommend; they should not consider their guests.

To start with the good, the staff were wonderful and communicative. We enjoyed the breakfast and the location was walkable to great bars and restaurants. Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly each day. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel that the room or other services were as described. The rooms/bathrooms needed obvious updates and didn’t match the quaint, boutique feel of the photos. The WiFi was unreliable and the pool was a bit dirty. We also were disappointed that the spa wasn’t prepared as described. We booked our included time in the spa and didn’t use it because the jacuzzi was lukewarm and there were used towels and glasses— we weren’t sure if it had been cleaned. Overall, we are grateful for the kindness that the staff showed us, but we felt that the hotel had been slightly neglected. A few touches could have improved things significantly. We probably wouldn’t return, considering the lower cost of comparable accommodations.

This hotel is just ok. Rooms are very small and the plumbing is aweful. Basic things like flushing the toilet are a major hassle. Noise transfer from other rooms on same floor and below disturbs sleep too. Wifi is terrible. Put simply, it’s over priced for the quality of accommodation and services. I would recommend instead staying at Miravida Soho Hotel on Darregueyra 2050, Palermo.

I stayed last night in room 203, and the room was nothing like the photos... it was less than basic and smelled musty. In the bathroom, above the shower, there was a huge damp stain on the ceiling... and you pay $200 for that... appalling. The Wi-Fi didn't work. The only good thing was the massage and the nice pool area... nothing else.

Stayed for five nights and had such a positive experience.Room v comfortable…staff exceptional …Ricardo so helpful when trying to book a flight owing to strike action in country .Asado in beautiful garden by hotel owner …interesting and fun . A warm welcoming experience in Buenos Aires. Thank you to everyone.

Given the price and online listings, I booked the Duque Hotel expecting a boutique experience. It was more akin to a motel experience. There were stains on the bedsheets and walls. The "recently renovated rooms" had scratches from the walls to the floors. The room itself had absolutely no flair, no art, and was cramped and dirty. I brought this to the attention of the receptionist who said she would communicate my dissatisfaction to the manager. Throughout my three night stay, no manager reached out. The breakfast was OK, though I have a suspicion half of the offerings were reheated frozen food. The second day the coffee machine broke down and only instant coffee was served. After my stay, I emailed the hotel expressing that their website engaged in false advertising (e.g. "welcome drinks" and "gym access" were listed as amenities and they were not) and shared photos of the dirty room. Their reply was four paragraphs of "I'm sorry" with no recompense. Given the drastic difference in what was advertised versus what was delivered, I asked for a refund, to which I still have not received an answer. If you want to pay $200 a night to stay in a hotel who's chosen aesthetic is "dingy motel," this is the place for you.

TLDR: just get an Airbnb which offers more for less. In my opinion this hotel is a tourist trap taking advantage of those who do not know better, especially for the cost. You cannot enter the front door without ringing the bell, summoning reception to open the door for you. This left me outside waiting to enter more than once. What if I needed safety quickly? No key card access is esoteric and extremely frustrating. The wifi in the building constantly cuts out, with routers being reset often. There are 10+ networks…. Maybe consider 1/2 that actually function consistently. I am writing this from my expensive global data… In the lobby of the hotel. For the cost of this accommodation you’re better off getting a nice Airbnb somewhere. I cannot fathom how this place has such high reviews. With 4.6 / 5 stars you’d expect a luxurious stay with all Ts crossed and Is dotted, which is not what me or my party received. The rooms are quite small, which is to be expected for a boutique hotel. Regardless of room size, not being able to use the restroom without completely closing the door is ridiculous in itself. This leads to moving the towel on the floor outside the shower every time you open and close the door. The pool was not necessarily clean either with a fan I nearly hit my head on had I not been paying attention (I stand at only 6’2” / 188cm). The saving grace is the staff, who are attentive and welcoming. Albeit, when I arrived early to check in I was told I could go out and be contacted when the room is ready… I returned 20 mins before official check in and the room was prepared, with no contact made.

Had an excellent stay. Candela is very knowledgeable about the area and very sweet. The hotel is just off a main street and walking distance to planetarium and hop on hop off bus stops. I am returning for another stay.

Boutique Hotel in a Cozy Terrace Very well located converted large old terrace home. Room was small but efficient. Nice bed linens but bathroom towels were average. Pool and patio were a great feature and nice way to cool down after a busy day out. Pros - great location, terrific service by 24 hr staffing. Cons- breakfast was disappointing, wifi barely worked.no toilet amenities. Worth a try but a bit over priced for the offering.

They cancelled my reservation after I had booked and paid. Very disappointing experience and very poor customer service

I stayed there during the summer of 2023. A cozy and romantic place, far from the hustle and bustle of the city center. I highly recommend it.
