Marimacha Club Social is La Plata's only dedicated LGBTQ+ bar, a small cultural bar and pizzeria on Diagonal 78 between Calles 5 and 6 that opened on 25 October 2024. It's run by and for the queer community, led by lesbians and queer women but with a mixed crowd, and the name reclaims an old slur. Evenings mix drinks and pizza with karaoke and other stage nights, announced on Instagram (@marimachaclub). I could see it was very busy and lively. I didn't go inside, but I went to a brewery next door and saw how much fun everyone was having. There was karaoke. Everyone was singing and laughing. It looks like a fun place. I'll go next time.
