Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edmonton SW – Windermere, an IHG Hotel

I recently completed a 2-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edmonton SW - Windermere By IHG from June 12 to June 14, 2026. While the hotel excels in several core areas, a few notable infrastructure limitations and amenity gaps prevent it from being a flawless experience. On the positive side, the hotel was exceptionally clean, showcasing rigorous housekeeping standards from the moment I entered the room. The inclusion of full-sized Dove brand bath products in the bathroom was an excellent, highly practical touch that added great convenience to the stay. Additionally, the in-room climate control system was flawless, with an air conditioning unit that proved to be highly efficient, responsive, and quiet throughout the weekend. However, several operational and technical deficiencies require management's attention. The breakfast service, while acceptable in some regards, suffered from a disappointing lack of fresh fruit options, which left the meal feeling incomplete. More importantly, the shower infrastructure was highly deficient; the showerhead provided extremely low water pressure and poor flow, resulting in a very unpleasant and frustrating experience. In terms of modern amenities, the room lacks basic streaming connectivity. In today’s hospitality landscape, the total absence of a Chromecast or any casting capability on the television is a major oversight for guests wishing to stream their own media. Finally, a significant logistical warning must be issued regarding the parking situation. Due to ongoing construction right next to the property, parking inventory is severely limited. Guests returning late in the evening will find that there are almost no spaces left, which creates a highly stressful situation after dark. Ultimately, this is a very clean property with excellent staff and great core comfort, but the weak shower pressure, outdated media tech, and restricted parking are critical areas that need to be resolved.

Gurpreer provided excellent service . She is very kind. She is an Indian young lady with beautiful smile. Her service was warm and she truly cares about her guest. Highly recommended.

It was my second Time here, really like it Again ! Martin the Manager, and all the Staff at the front desk, and the breakfast area and for the rooms, Everybody is Nice, Friendly and Helpfull !!! Highly recommand this Location ! 👍🏼👍🏼

We had a good experience here, and this is a relatively great value. Its location is convenient, and the staff was most friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good too!

This is only a few years old hotel and it still smells like newer carpet. However layout, decoration and finishings are a "tacky daycare decorated by dollarstore". Linens and pillows are the cheapest synthetic version possible. AC is a constant turbine. Breakfast was good and consistent with this chain. Parkade had narrow stalls with uneven terrain - hard to load and unload without touching other cars. Location was within the industrial side but with easy access to main roads.

I had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express Windermere. The service from all staff was excellent—everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout my visit. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The breakfast was another highlight, with a solid variety and fresh options to start the day. The gym and hot tub were also great amenities and added to the overall experience. One area I’d love to see enhanced is sustainability—introducing reusable plates, cutlery, and more environmentally conscious options would be a meaningful step forward in both the guest rooms and breakfast buffet. Overall, a very positive stay, and I would gladly return.

We visit this hotel 1 or 2 times a month, and we are always greeted with a smile by Sheryl. She's super helpful and courteous. The property is clean and comfortable.

Gurpreet is an absolute gem and she’s super kind. Gave us extra plates and utensils when our delivery order forgot them. Also this hotel is truly pet friendly. They allow cats as well which is a relief because many hotels are dogs only. The free breakfast was great, lots of options!
