A location I wasn't aware of. However, with all the archives housed there, we can uncover a once-hidden past of Montreal. Exhibitions are generously organized by members, and research assistance is offered free of charge. If you're ever interested in discovering such a past, I recommend you visit at least once in your life.

What a great collection! I went and sat for a few hours looking through 3 or 4 of their boxes full of alphebetized-by-title zines. Some great examples from QC, Canada, and Internationally! Staff were very kind and helpful. Could easily spend hours, (even days) here! Most of their general collection is in French, but most of the zine section (at least of the boxes I looked through) were in English so lots to look at for either language! I booked ahead on their website, and had the option to pre-request materials to view from their online catalog. I chose to just pick a few boxes and see what fate gave me! If you have lots of free time I'd definitely recommend that approach, but otherwise arranging what you'd like to see ahead of time gives you more time to look. *Don't forget to bring some cash if you have it to donate to help fund their operations!*

Great place. Very welcoming and dedicated staff. Impressive archive collection: newspaper articles, books, DVDs, theater programs, posters, etc. However, it's not open often, but they are completely attentive to the customer's needs. The archives are moving to a larger space, which will help make even more material readily available.
