Hôtel Mere

While most of the lower rated reviews are correct (air conditioner was very loud though I didn't have any problems with functionality, there's very little parking, and there is that weird bathroom window) I didn't find any of it really negatively impacted my stay. Sure it would have been nice if the AC was a normal volume, but I slept great in my gigantic comfortable bed nonetheless. The bathroom window means this probably isn't the right choice for families, but for solo travellers or open-minded couples it's perfectly fine. The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. The location was great and easy to get to by foot. The only real annoyance was the WiFi, which I found painfully slow at times, and the fact that my ground-floor window opened up to a walking path (again, largely fine, but I definitely made more use of the curtains than I would have otherwise).

Great hotel, parking is a PITA. They have a TINY lot that fills up fast, if you can navigate all the parking rules downtown, there is plenty of parking nearby.

We stayed at Mere Hotel for just one night, and I wanted to thank Cinthya, who works the night shift, for her kindness and care. We are crossing Canada with our whole home inside our car, and since we didn’t know the province very well, we also didn’t realize that some people prefer (for safety reasons) to leave their cars parked near the airport with all their belongings inside and return to the hotel by Uber afterward. If you have anything valuable inside your car, I strongly recommend bringing it into the hotel instead. The staff kindly offered us a secure room to store all of our belongings, which made us feel much safer and truly cared for. Only two small criticisms: please improve the bathroom ceiling shower and the air conditioning noise. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience. Thank you again for the warmth and hospitality!

We booked very last minute, so it was nice to get a comfortable well-priced room. The view of the river was refreshing and he area very welcoming and attractive. So nice to see this part of Winnipeg developed in such a good way!

First time in Winnipeg and staying at the Mere Hotel. Known for its prime location in the Exchange District and proximity to downtown, along with its river views; it lived up to the expectations and more. This little gem of a boutique hotel is modern, clean, chic, and perfectly equipped for a business or leisure stay. Service is exceptional with professional and friendly staff. Special shout out to Cynthia managing the front desk and operations. Beds are so comfortable and the Molton Brown toiletry products are luxurious. Very pleased with my experience and highly recommend. Thank you and kudos, Team Mere!

While the rooms are nice, unless you want a hotel that has 0 amenities (including water fountains) and love hearing everything everyone is doing in the surrounding rooms and hallways with minimal privacy, this is the hotel for you. Best to come prepared with your own water as well, otherwise be prepared for a surprise 7$ water bottle charge that is not listed anywhere. Would not recommend and will not being staying again.
