Close to sketchy area on one side but the other direction, avenue Central has excellent shops, grocery store and feels like the locals Panama.
Horrible. Filled with cockroaches and fleas or some bugs in the blanket. I told them several times not to wake me up in the morning but they came to wake me up 3 days in a row at 9 am in the morning. What is their problem?? Why can't they let their guests rest?? Why am I paying to be disturbed every day??
Just for sleeping, no benefits
I left some Michael Kors sandals and a new Real Madrid shirt, and I called the supervisor. He said they hadn't reported anything, that we left those items somewhere else. We called when we arrived and realized the same day that our suitcases had never been separated; we left them ourselves. They didn't give us an answer, much less a resolution! They treated us like liars!
Horrible... as soon as you enter the reception area, there's no air conditioning. I was going to stay one day and one night... they gave me a room that looked like something out of a horror movie... covered in graffiti and scratched on several walls. I asked to be moved to a different room and they gave me one that was a little better, but still run down. I don't recommend it. Oh, and after 9 pm you go out... and you're a victim of the criminals who operate on the side of that street... and people from the sea living in the park, no way. No way...
It's flat-out a hole in the ground. There is (if you can find a spot) literally no parking space available. The rooms are a dilapidated mess! If you are lucky, you may find live electrical outlets in the rooms that work. The windows haven't been cleaned for years! So there is your quality view of the surroundings! The service is by far, a joke! The traffic/public/people noise + criminal activity is off the charts! About the only good thing is there are many shops, restaurants, (sometimes) activities available and it is not far from the historic Casco Viejo or old-Panama-City.
The man at reception—an older man, likely in his 60s and wearing glasses—had a consistently sulky and unfriendly attitude, which made for a very unpleasant experience. If the door handle is broken and guests are not supposed to touch it, there should at least be a sign informing them. There was no hot water in the shower. On the bright side, though, you might get a cockroach in your room, so at least you won’t be alone.
