We had a lovely time!

An amazing experience centered on community. I visited as a solo traveler and enjoyed making new friends during my visit. The guesthouse is designed to optimize socializing. As you walk through on your way to your room, you have multiple communal spaces to sit a chat (first the pool, then a garden, followed by the hot tub, and upstairs there's a living room and outdoor deck). The vibe is very chill (this isn't a party place with loud music). Quite 420 friendly. Not only is the layout optimized for meeting people, Rob the owner also organizes activities during the day. On Saturday and Sunday, we had a complementary brunch from 10:30-11:30 that was delicious! (Think free avocado toast, eggs made to order, waffles, overnight oats, a smoothie, Greek yogurt, homemade bread). We also had a free BBQ on Saturday with delicious burgers and hotdogs grilled onsite, followed by a free salsa class. You can tell it's truly an important focus. There's even an optional WhatsApp group chat you can join to coordinate hangouts with other guests. Coqui has a whiteboard with LGBTQ+ events across San Juan too. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area of San Juan. This could be plus for those looking to relax, but it also means restaurants are further away than if you stayed in Condado (10 minute walk, with more limited selection). Ocean Park is not as inviting to walk since some areas lack dedicated cross-walks. I found few late night food options available. Can't wait to return and spend more time here! A highlight of my time in PR, and one of my favorite gay travel experiences.

It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in San Juan, after this I might not want to stay anywhere else when I come to visit. It was safe, welcoming, comfortable and the food was very very delicious.

Stayed here first in 2022 and again in 2025. Very well ran place with very lovely employees and owners. Great location less than a block from a beach and a quick uber from both Old San Juan and the airport. Was my first experience with clothing optional setting and have since tried to incorporate clothing optional into most of my travels. Lovely facility that has a hot tub, small pool, and is decorated lovingly. Had a great time with the other guests. Just an all-around fine place built on love and kindness.

This past weekend was my 5th time staying at Coqui Del Mar. As I have never been one to repeat destinations, the magic that's in Coqui will put a spell on you! During my stay, the service that Kevin provided was absolutely out of this world. He was the manager, maintenance, housekeeper, entertainment (great storyteller), dog walker, and chef. He did all of the above with a smile that can power the whole neighborhood, lol. I joke now, but the transformer exploded at the end of the street and Kevin went to each guest to check and make sure everyone was ok! The people that work at Coqui Del Mar should be praised and raised!

Kevin was the perfect host! Breakfast was included and delicious too!

I cannot express how excellent and satisfying my stay was here. Initially nervous traveling to Puerto Rico for the first time but the hosts were all so welcoming and comforting, as well as keeping the guests updated with all the latest events so you always have something to do or look forward to during your stay. Thank You Team Coqui for a wonderful and magic like experience ❤️

Rob, the owner from the first contact was very accommodating and helpful The guesthouse experience was out of the world for me and every staff member were always there for Mr having a good relaxing time. Bonus was making friends for different art of the world. I can’t wait to come back and stay here again.

Is generally a good place to stay, but there’s a couple issues: 1. Don’t book their tours. I did so and the guy texted me the night before, around 10 hours before start time, to say that is cancelled. I understand wanting to wait close by the date to give people chance to reserve, but don’t wait until the night before. At least give people a 24 hour notice, anything less then that is disrespectful and disruptive since then I had to scramble and change plans last minute. On top of that, I never received a refund. So avoid their tours at all cost. 2. Parking. There’s very limited parking. You never know if you’re going to have a spot or not when coming back. They should invest in acquiring some parking space in the area. Even if we have to walk a little bit that’s ok, but there should be more parking for us somewhere nearby. 3. They should update the reservations for their shared room to only allow a 2 night minimum stay for the weekend. Many people book only one night for the shared room for the weekend and it ruins everything. Leave the shared rooms for people looking to book a full weekend where paying for the one room rate is not feasible. If you’re only staying one night on the weekend, then you should be able to afford a solo room. Also, based on my experience , those booking one night for the shared room are looking to cruise, which can make the stay uncomfortable; where’s I’ve seen those who book for full weekend they tend to be cool people having a good time looking to meet others without being weird about it. Updating reservations for 2 night minimum stay for the shared rooms on the weekends helps avoid those only looking to cruise while giving a chance for people to book a full weekend at an affordable price. However, the staff is very nice and in general is a good place to stay, but have those couple things that need fixing in my opinion. If they can make those adjustments mentioned above then it can raise to 5 starts.

My husband and I went briefly for a honeymoon and did not regret our choice to stay! The accomidations were pleasant if quaint in the most charming of ways. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly and it’s located perfectly near the beach, grocery store or wherever you need to be! We will be going back in 2027 if not sooner!
