I’d give this place 2 stars based on its overall condition. However, Pedro was incredibly helpful and friendly, he went above and beyond his role to assist guests. He’s clearly great at what he does and genuinely cares about his job. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the rest of the staff I interacted with.

My stay at Coquí was incredible. All the staff was super friendly, kind, and helpful. It’s a great place to get to know people who are also traveling in San Juan. It’s in a quiet area where the lullaby of the Coquís will serenade you to sleep. I loved it so much that I cancelled my other hotel and booked more nights at Coquí!

We recently stayed at both Coqui Del Mar and the Firehouse in San Juan, and overall it was a bit of a mixed experience. Starting with Coqui Del Mar — the staff and people there were genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful. That was definitely the highlight of the stay and made a difference when dealing with some of the downsides. However, the property itself felt a bit run down. Our room had cockroaches during the stay, which was pretty disappointing, and overall cleanliness just wasn’t quite there — nothing was completely filthy, but everything felt slightly dirty or worn. The WiFi was also extremely unreliable, to the point where it was basically unusable at times, which was frustrating since we needed to stay connected during the trip. As for the Firehouse, this was more of a letdown overall. While it has a cool concept and location, it felt more neglected than expected, and the same issues with cleanliness and general upkeep were even more noticeable. It didn’t feel like it lived up to the expectations set by its photos and reviews. That said, the people we interacted with across both places were friendly and accommodating, which goes a long way. Overall, we’d consider staying at Coqui Del Mar again because of the people and vibe, but the Firehouse was more of a disappointment for us.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always available; you quickly feel right at home. The atmosphere is very chill, perfect for unwinding and fully enjoying the vacation vibe in San Juan. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I slept wonderfully, and everything was spotlessly clean. I also really enjoyed the weekend brunch; the food was excellent! Plus, I met some interesting people, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A warm, relaxing, and authentic place that I highly recommend.
