It's a mainstream gay-friendly property, not a gay venue. Google reviewers rate it 4.1 from about 50 reviews. Iowa State University's campus and the Campustown area are about 10 minutes' drive away, and Des Moines, which has the state's main gay bars, is about 40 minutes south on I-35. Book early around ISU football weekends and graduation, when rooms fill and prices rise.

I stayed here for a little short of a week while my kiddo attended Odyssey of the Mind at the college. The room was super clean. The staff was super nice. I was truly thrown off by how nice it was for how little I spent to stay there.

Worst dump I ever stayed in. No hot water, bugs in tub, never connected to wifi. Dirty towels. I would sleep in parking lot then ever stay there again!!! Contacted corp. office who did nothing to help me.
