Holiday Inn National Airport/Crystal City par IHG

The room itself isn't bad. Although the hotel looks a bit dated, the room wasn't severely worn out or unsanitary. However, first of all, the hotel breakfast was disappointing. Considering the price, the variety and quality weren't particularly impressive. Also, regarding the location, it is over 1km away from Crystal City Station, so it is too far to walk; I had to take the shuttle that comes from the airport every 30 minutes. In other words, the location is excellent for those only using the airport, but it can be a bit inconvenient for those like me who plan to explore downtown Washington frequently. So, it was a huge relief that there was a shuttle. Overall, I was satisfied, but since those two things were slightly disappointing, I gave it four stars.

A great hotel. Staff is amazing. Very helpful. Great with kids. The location is near a lot of great things and you are very close to the tourist spots of DC.

Large rooms and great gym equipment. Tracy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, management is top tier.

Average at best . . . Room is decent. Weekend breakfast was only buffet and at $22 per person is overpriced. Coffee had a lot to be desired . . .

Some of the front desk staff are not friendly at all. They seem mad that you are checking in. I would not recomend this hotel

Well this is definitely not a Holiday Inn express. The lobby is nice and clean and smells fresh. However it's full of national guard folk just standing around looking pretty. Every time I got off the elevator I had to maneuver through a mob of them constantly. They would not move out of the way for ladies, I saw others they just stood there like they owned the place. Apparently they've been here for months. Just walking around the city, clogging up the hotel lobby and majorly slowing down the only elevator working. For that reason alone I won't stay here again. I'm in DC. So what am I to expect? I understand that and I did not take any points off for it, but it really put a damper on our stay. What I did take points off for is the fact that I asked when I checked in if there was coffee in the morning, and I was told yes. So when I came down first thing, groggy and they said it's $3 plus tax, for thermos coffee, not even the good stuff that grinds itself, like the newer IHGs have... well, I was fit to be tied at that point. It is too early in the morning to have to go back up to my room for money and all for a lukewarm cup of crappy coffee. Only thing worse would have been using the Keurig. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... Good news is, there's a McDonald's with decent coffee for less than $3 right next door. Still, I find this to be unacceptable for the hotel to not give coffee to their guests. They're taking on bad reviews for this one thing. Also, my bed was not up to par either. Very worn in, this is one of the main reasons I stay with IHG, as they consistently have good beds and linens. One good thing I can say and I do want to give a shout out to, is the Saturday morning hotel clerk, Armad, he never lost his smile even when I was losing my cool a little bit over the coffee. I need my morning coffee what can I say? He was the most pleasant thing about this hotel. He got you the extra star in service. Now, I will say in fairness, if I wasn't always staying in IHGs expresses all the time, I am sure I would be just fine with this place. It is very clean and it does not look too outdated or worn in. They have maintained the building very well. Still... Note to manager, this is how important morning coffee is to many of us. Please do better. Also replace your beds more often, thank you.

Okay hotel, the TV did not work,call tech and they didn't fix. We had to find something else to do because the TV wasn't working. We went out and bought some games just to have something to do. The bathroom shower was dirty. The parking was $42.00 a night. That's outrageous. The hotel is obviously an old hotel. Very disappointed. We were ready to leave.

Overall, excellent stay! The room was clean and quiet, and had great hot shower. Breakfast had a variety of options, and the complimentary shuttle to the airport is a huge plus. It is also very close to the rental car centers. Mohammed and the team provided excellent service! Highly recommend!
