Hôtel Boulderado

Terrible. Staff was unfriendly, rude, and dismissive (esp “Birdie”). Paid $850 for a premium room which was 88F on arrival. AC couldn’t get the temp down below 78 until after 1 am. Restaurant was dismal. Staff incompetent. Waited 90 minutes for a meal in a 1/2 full establishment and when it arrived it was inedible. Would not recommend.

The Boulderado is such a classic Boulder staple! The atmosphere is cozy and beautiful and the Christmas tree in the lobby in December is a must see! We also attended a wedding here and it was a beautiful venue for a special event. So much to love, and only steps to from downtown.

we used to come here a lot back when the ex-wife was in college here at CU and we would hang out with friends and explore Boulder. Lots of great memories and came back to have a birthday memory here and it was fabulous Lots of changes still wish they had the upstairs bar but still the service was great the people were great The food was great thank you guys again for a blessed day. ,

The room was very elegant and the location was supreme. The staff was a bit overbearing, however, demanding that we could have no guests in our room past a certain time, regardless of noise control.

Unfortunately, the rich history of the hotel is just that, history. The staff was apathetic, often distracted with their cell phones or side conversations, and rarely on the guests. This observation was made several times throughout my stay, including my own experience. The simplest of requests seemed very complicated to the staff with responses often starting with… “uh…,uh…”’ as if they were unsure how to respond. I think it led me to finally decide to leave a review is that upon checkout I had a request about my booking I received a very clear” well, you didn’t book through us so I can’t help you” with a tone of distaste. So perhaps the issue is that they do not welcome guests that do not book directly through the hotel.

Hotel Boulderado is advertised as a four-star hotel, but it falls well short of that standard. While the historic building and lobby architecture are charming, the overall experience is disappointing. The furniture throughout is worn, dented, and dirty with matted carpeting that clearly hasn't been properly maintained in years. My room was shabby and needed renovation, complete with a vase of dead flowers upon arrival. The housekeeping staff deserves credit, but that's where the positives end. The front desk staff were rude and unwelcoming, and notably young and undertrained—they seemed to lack any understanding of what a four-star experience should entail. I also observed them allowing homeless individuals to loiter in the lobby without intervention. The gym is cramped and inadequate, becoming overcrowded with just four people. Despite calling ahead to confirm strong internet for work, the connection was completely insufficient for professional use. The restaurants serve almost entirely deep fried food with minimal fresh options. There are essentially no meaningful amenities to speak of. For the price charged, this hotel delivers a three-star experience at best. I cannot recommend it and would suggest looking elsewhere for a proper four-star stay in Boulder.

Gorgeous, well kept, historic hotel a two minute walk to Pearl Street. The staff is beyond courteous. Room service was excellent as well. Breathtaking views from the top floor.

We attended the Mother's Day Brunch on the Mezzanine for the 2nd year in a row yesterday. While our first experience was really great, this time, not so much. While waiting for the rest of our party we had a Lavender Mimosa and a Cappuccino at the bar, which was a wonderful start. Because we took the elevator to the Mezzanine we missed the "make your own bouquet" station :( Our table was right next to the window which was really nice, the decor was flawless and the "vibe" was perfect. Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. You would think that because it is Boulder they might have more vegetarian choices but they put bacon in the Brussel Sprouts (instead of on the side for you to add if you like) and ruined it for those who don't eat pork. They had yummy, fluffy mashed potatoes but no gravy. They had crab but nothing to crack the shells with and the "fruit" was chunks of honeydew, cantalope and strawberries and the strawberries disappeared quickly never to be replaced in the two hours we were there. I had a great experience at the Omelette Station where the chefs were personable and funny. That Omelette was the only thing that was hot! The country potatoes, cold. The salmon, cold. There was lots of cold food. To top it off, they took deposits this year, even for the 2 year old in our party who was free? When they calculated the final bill they charged us a random amount, $30 for him because she could not tell that he was under 5 (!?), even though we reserved the "under 5/free" category. We brought it to their attention and they were apologetic and said they would "comp" that charge. They removed it but never removed the $10 DEPOSIT we gave them on booking. They also charged $12 for a mimosa which was in addition to the $85 per person charge! Apple juice (about 2 cups) and soda were $5 each. It also took FOREVER to get the final bill paid so we could go! Our server kept disappearing and we had to flag down another server to take our payment. That all left a bad taste and we vowed, as a family, that this would NOT be a family tradition after all.

We had brunch here to celebrate my sisters graduation and it was absolutely delicious and the service was phenomenal. After suffering a terrible meal at FlagStaff the night before we were definitely all apprehensive but Hotel Boulderado totally hit it out of the park for us. Their menu was inclusive to everyones needs and food was delicious. Definitely consider stopping at Hotel Boulderado for brunch or drinks. Beautiful, classic, and wonderful waiter!
