Hôtel The Armstrong

I initially reserved a corner suite for my mom's birthday. but later decided to reserve a second night which the corner suite was not available. In emailing reservation staff they said only a king or queen regular room was available, but on the website the one-bedroom suite was available. Once I took the time to call and pointed that out, I was able to make the reservation. Later I was sorry I had done so. The one bedroom is small, stuffy, has very little furniture - we rented a second night and the suite so we would have some time to sit and enjoy good company not in a loud restaurant or coffee shop. The suite was quiet, but only had seating for 2 people. Mom and dad sat on the couch while my partner and I sat on the floor. It was awkward and for such an expensive room, I was quite disappointed. Will not reserve here again.

Ed at the front desk was very nice, and the hotel is cute and in Old Town, so lots of nearby activities. However, the noise from the street outside and the hallway is unbearable. A hotel is only as good as your night’s sleep. All night large trucks, emergency vehicles, honking vehicles, talking in the hallway, etc. I found a little tray with foam earplugs, which should’ve clued me in, but I can’t sleep with foam in my ears either.

Great location for our needs. Hotel has a great staff, that works hard and will meet your every need! It has an old time western feel that is in pristine condition. Loved our stay!

My stay at the Armstrong was fantastic! The staff was incredibly welcoming and gave me great suggestions for the area. The location on that cute street is perfect for walking around and enjoying Old Town. They had free bikes to use for cruising around! The hotel itself was beautiful and the room was set up wonderfully for all accommodations. They had a noise machine for ambience when I walked in the room and the bed was literally the best I have ever slept in traveling. I will definitely stay with them again the next time I am in Fort Collins!

I had a wonderful stay at The Armstrong Hotel this past Easter weekend. This was a staycation while I hung out with some friends who live in Windsor. So, I didn't do much on the main drag of College Avenue. But it seemed like a bustling and exciting place. The room was well kept and clean, and the front desk staff were nice and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable, and the water pressure was great. I requested a luggage rack, and someone placed in into my room with no problem. I would definitely return to stay again. Maybe the 3rd floor next time. I was on the second floor and bless the cleaning staff for all they do, but they are fast and furious with that vacuum cleaner in the morning. That was the bulk of the noise I experienced. Not terrible. The parking was convenient, and close by. My only critique is that the parking lot next to the Bohlender Funeral Chapel needs some light at night. When returning late at night, the parking lot is extremely dark. And some cars were double parked. I read some reviews about the loudness of the train that goes down the next block on Mason Street. It wasn't bad. You should always travel with earplugs, but the hotel provided ear plugs which was a nice touch.

Very charming hotel! Love staying here everytime we are in Ft. Collins!

Instead of a normal review, here's what I sent the general manager of The Armstrong. For context, I stayed in March, 2026 and I've spent over 20yrs in the hospitality industry. "Troy, I want to share this with you. I wasn't in Fort Collins for fun, I was there for a 3-day counseling intensive. I share that to say, it was a hard week. Your staff - whether it was a restaurant recommendation, fixing the air in my room, or telling me not to worry when I forgot the fob at the gym - your staff made my stay. There wasn't a giant crisis that needed their attention with me, they were just genuinely authentic in their hospitality towards me and I felt it. Justin Welsh recently wrote how in the restaurant industry no one is even trying anymore. I want you to know, your team is more than trying, they're going above and beyond. And I say this as a 10yr Chick-fil-A veteran. Also want to specifically give a shout out to Frankie. This guy - dang. Two nights in a row, I was absolutely spent from the day, and for some reason so many restaurants close earlier than I expected. I went down to Ace to see if I could get an americano while I read, but quickly realized it was a beautiful spot, but not the vibe I was looking for, just too noisy to read. I asked him if I could get a coffee, he said absolutely, but wasn't sure if decaf was available. So he said what a true professional would say "why don't you go upstairs and I'll bring it to you." I was impressed and said, deal. I went upstairs and realized the espresso machine was upstairs as well, and I felt bad for pulling him away from the hustle and bustle of downstairs. I told him a few times, ''hey man, don't worry about it, it's fine", but he was insistent. Found someone else to confirm the coffee was decaf, and made me (seriously) a phenomenal americano. Next night he epeated it when I ordered the amazing peanut butter pie. I tipped him double my tab, but I think it was split between everyone, so I wanted to make sure I intentionally called out how exceptional his service was. Easy to execute for a guest, hard to do it with a genuine smile and sincerity - that was Frankie. That americano and authenticity was exactly what I needed after a hard day. Just wanted you to know about my experience and how well I was treated last week. 10/10. Speaks directly to your leadership" I would go OUT OF MY WAY to stay at this beautiful property.

Really cute hotel - very stylish featuring vintage designs. Rooms are small but comfortable.

Every concert we see at the Aggie, we stay here. Great service. Amazing help with anything we need! We'll definitely be back. ❤️ Ed was the best
