Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach

We stayed in a Diamond Head Ocean View room in the Tower Wing. The view from the room and the location were fantastic, making for a wonderful honeymoon. There were a lot of insects, but when we asked the staff, a cleaning staff member came immediately and dealt with the problem. The service was excellent. We would love to stay there again someday!

This is the best hotel!!!

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in the historic section with a Banyan tree and ocean view. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Originally, we had a city view room in the tower, and they upgraded us to partial ocean view. Be warned that tower rooms with partial ocean view look at a wall of balconies. We weren't happy with that, so we were allowed to switch. We loved the new room and location. Pool was small, but fit the bill. Chairs were fairly easy to come by. The beach was beautiful and the water was perfect. We are Elite members, so we got complimentary beach chairs each day. That was nice. The beach bar was great. Yummy food and drinks. All the staff were so helpful. We had tea at the Veranda. It was wonderful. Delicious food choices and tea. Our daughter wasn't excited about her options, so they brought her the Keike sandwich plate. They were very accommodating. We felt so pampered! Perfect vacation spot.

Staying at this hotel was quite a wonderful experience and it was everything we hoped for and more. An absolutely beautiful, elegant historic hotel that just finished renovations and it looks absolutely splendid. The lobby area and the pool courtyard are both so beautiful. The service here is absolutely top notch in all aspects, even getting little gifts and drink vouchers. This hotel is definitely geared more toward adults though it is also suitable for families with well-behaved children. The pool bar is definitely a very happening place with live music for much of the afternoon and evening. The pool is very small like many of the other hotels in Waikiki, but obviously you are coming here to go to the beach, which is literally steps away! If you are wanting to rent beach chairs with an umbrella, you need to do so online a couple weeks in advance. Otherwise you can rent folding beach chairs first come first serve which will usually be gone by 10am but open up again later in the afternoon as people return them. I definitely recommend staying in the Tower Wing in a Diamond Head view on an upper floor. The renovated rooms are very nice and the beds are very comfy. The bathrooms come with the water squirting heated seat toilets but we ended up unplugging ours for our stay as it was a little too exotic for us. The location of this hotel is prime right in the middle of the beach and the strip with restaurants and shops in both directions. If you pay a little extra to stay at this hotel, it is definitely well worth it and it will make your trip as good as it can go!

The room and the location was great for the Moana surfrider but man the service at the Veranda was absolutely god awful. The staff doesn’t know what they’re doing and the servers can barely speak English. They don’t explain anything to you. It’s honestly such a disappointment for a Marriott property. The expectations are high for the prices that they’re charging but this property woefully underperforms

Definitely a beautiful place with a spectacular location and a lovely historical setting. We stayed for four nights and they were excellent. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, the restaurants and bars were excellent, and the service was wonderful. Valet parking is available for an additional fee, but for us it was worth it. Around the hotel, you can find various restaurants and places to visit.

This hotel is mediocre and is overpriced. The staff were not kind or knowable. They ran out of breakfast items early, and they don’t value loyal Marriott customers. Despite having several room upgrades available online, I was denied room upgrades on multiple nights despite having platinum elite status. The only somewhat good thing is the beach access. However, this is one of the worst Marriott experiences we have ever had. We don’t recommend staying here and we will never come back.

This was the first hotel I stayed okay during my stay. It was stunning! Absolute wow factor! Friendly staff and you can’t beat the views! I ate at the beach grill and the food and staff was amazing!
