Really good best, hotel

I was so excited to stay at the Moana Surfrider, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing from the moment we arrived. Our first room smelled awful—like old carpet and mildew. We tried to ignore it, but the smell was so strong that we couldn’t stay in the room and had to request a room change. The second room was better, but the bathroom still had an unpleasant odor. We were also told that we had one of the best view rooms because it overlooked the courtyard and ocean. Unfortunately, we could barely see the ocean, and the view was nothing like what we expected based on how it was described. The service was also very poor. At one point, we requested ice water and waited over an hour before receiving it. Throughout our stay, it felt like guest concerns were not a priority, and there was very little urgency in addressing issues. The hotel itself is beautiful and historic, which makes this even more disappointing. I had high expectations and was really looking forward to this stay, but between the room odors, misleading room description, long wait times, and lackluster service, the experience did not justify the price. Sadly, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed rather than relaxed. I would not choose to stay here again. 😢

Hotel is recently completely remodeled and they did a great job. Rooms are comfortable. Lots of restaurants to choose from. The one thing that will keep me from coming back in the future is the fact that there is a nightclub right across the street that cranks it out till 2:00 a.m. And you can literally feel like the band is playing inside your hotel room hotels aware of it. They're trying to work with the city but it's going to be a long road before they get it squared away and the noise from the street is like nothing I've ever heard. It's like Mardi gras and the 4th of July and New Year's rolled into one. I don't understand it. Definitely going to find another location way off the strip next time

Went for “high tea” on a Sunday. Expensive, but exquisite.

Everyone was extremely friendly. Room was beautiful. Important note that the beach area is not large. You should bring your own chairs. Location is great.

As expected. Everything was top-notch. The room, service, safety, and security were all excellent. However, Japanese was not spoken anywhere except at the JAL counter. Also, for some reason, the melon in the breakfast buffet was labeled as "miso soup," and although I pointed out that it wasn't miso soup, they seemed determined to call it that, which I found amusing.
